I haven't get the key yet. I just bought from ebay but dont know when will send to me. Actually i dont know the frequency is same to my car or not. I just simply go and buy it and test for my car only..........hehehehehehhe

The key i bought got this at behind "FCC ID: LX8FZV" wherelse my key behind not stated this. I dont know is suitable to my key or not, so just have a try.

that is for the transponder chip for the EWS. if it is the correct code, you can start the car but you cannot open the door if the frequency is incorrect.

Then even i reprogram it also cannot open the door ?

If wrong frequency then you cannot sync it in the first place la. Also you need specialist to copy your original key's transponder code and put in in your new key.

For E46, the diamond shape are supplied with 2 frequency. Usually it is written on the back of the key but it tend to fade away.
The frequency are 315Mhz or 433MHz.

I used a diagnostic tool and managed to find the frequency of my key as shown below.

The frequency is fixed by the Crystal Oscillator. It cannot be change unless you change the X-tal Oscillator.

See picture below.

I have checked my key, is stated Siemens, i think it using 433 MHz but the key. Then I think the key i ordered is not 433 MHz.

How to capture this frequency ? Need to use special tools ? What is the tool name and software name ?

Anyone experienced this, "Remote Key Battery" error. I still get this error showing even after changing the battery in my key.

It means the battery in your key is weak. Time to replace.
Please be careful when opening the key not to drop the tiny chip thats inside (looks like a tiny broken piece of plastic with tiny wordings on it). All you need is a Philips head screwdriver to do the deed.

Mine kept showing even after i changed my battery so i changed it another time and voila... no more problems. Damn 1st shop sold me a dud of a battery.

Finally, i received the key already but the key's frequency is not same with my current.

I got key from ebay, the chips serial number same as my original key is that meaning with this chips i can start my e39 engine ?

which frequency did you order for your key?

bought 315mhz ... this was shown on the back on my other key.... received the key before CNY and had it initialised and now buttons are all working fine.

Hove not 'cut' the key yet but according to the shop i went to they say even if i cut d key it would not start the engine and they quoted me RM500.00 to get it programmed.

Any sifus here can recommend an alternative lock smiths that i can go to 'cut' and programme the key...
