Hunting for a GOOD E46 (Facelifted)

My topic and description says it all. I'm desperate to get a good E46 model. I get mixed opinions about 1.8, 2.0 and 2.5 models. (2.8 is definately a no-no.) Can anyone of you gentlemen give me some tips on which model to get / better still to recommend me to one of your friends who wants to sell it. No 2nd hand car dealers please. I'm too afraid to buy from them. Thanks in advance! I want my ultimate driving machine too!

Me also looking for 99/00 E46.

If you're looking for 320i year 2000 with manual transmission, there a shop at Jalan Pudu selling it..read the star motoring..you'll find which car I'm referring to......That car selling for 118k...my budget only at < 100k

both also 6 cylinder, i think should be about the same, unless u go for 318i 2.0 its 4 cylinder (somehow i find maintenance will be cheaper than 6 cylinder)

All pre face 318i some with 4 pot 118hp, FL is 4 pot 143 hp but price to pay for. Pls get the 325i not 323i even both is 2.5l coz the 325 will give 190hp and 323 only 170hp.

Maintenance for 318i definately is cheaper 4 pot compare 325 is 6 pot. Engine bigger so more eng oil and others, but u will see the difference in both eng sound and perf definately. Your choice now !!

Thanks for the insight man. I just found a person selling it for RM 135k Yr. 2001. Changed tyres, suspension, rims, and sounds good ler. I;m going for a test drive tomorrow. Any tips on what I should check for/ask?
