Chubby

Glad that you can make it. When not promote this to some of your friends also.

Alvin,

Yup yup will try n ask some of my friends to come along as well..cool!
i do have a question though...if i were to bring a few people along on that day (basically guests not driver of a car)...would they be able to go for a ride around the track?...

cHEERs :)

Yes they will be able to take taxi rides. Please take note that they will need to at least wear shoes & helmet & of course no smoking in the car.
YEs i know this is funny but i caught 1 jokers GF happily smoking away in the car without a helmet just as he was trying to ext the pits. Smoking is only allowed behing the pits & children less than 12 is not allowed in the cars on track.
If you need to clarify anything else please ask away.

Alvin,

Thanks for the prompt reply...its good to know that there will be taxi rides on the day...if not it would be a boring day for the guests im sure. Well i've already emailed to hpc and awaiting their reply but in any case u can count me in...i look forward to it... :)

Are you serious??? There was actually a chick that was smoking in the car as they were about to exit. That is just wrong. Where is the common sense of some of these 'Ah lians' (not referring to the one that strolls this forum). ;)

Just another question. Do you guys do a quick check on the vehicles before they exit the pits? i.e. suspension, contents of the car (making sure nothing is lose, ) Otherwise it can be pretty dangerous. I know Sepang is very wide so its a little safer but can never be too careful.

Another question is does HPC allow beginners on the track to take out friends for rides? Is this a little dangerous?

last event i dun see anyone checking the cars, i wonder why? :)

Go on trust system?

Yes! its true cause i check & told the AhLian off. Couldnt believe it. Was a S'pore car. Oh well! I also had to chase a joker that decided that he wanted to go back to his pit by reversing all the way from pit 28 to pit 10. reversing at 40kmh summore. Idiot must have thought it was cool. Well we get all sorts.

We cant really check every single car for loose items. We did announce during briefing. This time it will be more organise as we will be having classroom session for group 1 & 2 which is the beginners grp. We need to educate track etiquette. Do's & don't plus the racing lines & all. Wanna help me in the classroom?

Group 1 & 2 will need an instructor in their car for the first few sessions until they are given the green light that its ok for them to go out on their own. Thats when taxi rides are ok. Spectators can all ask for ride from some of those in group 3.

RedZ4,

Great comment but then again loose things are NOT supposed to be in your cabin - even when driving on the road.

Imagine what your steering lock can do when wedged under your brake pedal?????

The HPE Event - is NOT a racing school, so it's meant to be a slightly above speed limit drive but yes, some discipline and heaps of COMMON SENSE is necessary.....just like on the street isn't it?

Alvin,

I would love to help out. I know its going to be a whole day affair and as tempting as this sound, I don't know if I can say for the entire session.
Let me call you on this matter within the week and let you know.

I like to get behind the scenes and check out how you guys run this event and compare it with those events that I've done in the U.S. I have a feelign that its a little different cause most events that I've done are time trial events and those guys can be pretty aggressive.

Jules,

just wanted to point out, common sense to you and I might be very logical. But to others might not be that easy. Some crazy drivers that are into racing simply have very little sense. The thoughts are not as logical but its not necessarily wrong. Just have to watch out for these guys.
