Hi Guys, I was thinking of attempting to change the engine oil in my E90 myself.Have anyone of you done it?Is it difficult? My initial concerns are:1) Do I need to raise my car?2) Where do I locate the drain plug and what spanner size?3) How do I replace the oil filter e.g. how tight do you tighten the new filter?4) How do you know how much new oil to pour in, seeing that there is no dipstick?Appreciate your advice on this. Thanks guys.

if you need to ask these questions, it's not advisable to attempt...
U need a fellow DIY buddy to guide u thru on the spot. buy him lunch and probably a massage after that..

I've done this myself on my merc like 20 years ago in London. A friend had a pit in his house garage. typical Brit who like to tinker and DIY.

If you do not have access to a pit or proper jack, forget it.

unless you can find comfortable opening on the ground like some slab over a drain, maybe. just maybe if you're a hobbit.

It can get messy with the hot oil.

Find a friendly mechanic with a garage if you wish to DIY.

If I have the chance to build my own home, would certainly throw in a proper garage, with an 80's performance car to tinker with my spare time.

Daytona, buy Astroboy a bottle of whiskey and the lessons will be FOC.

As long as we can still find the car after one bottle!
