I am driving a 2010 Performance Edition Model (177hp/350nm) and have clocked 23000km with the following problems;
1) Squeaky door panels (on both my front & rear left doors) which they cant settle even after their 2nd attempt to tape the doors
2) Gremlins started wrecking havoc on both my rear signal lights recently (@20,000km)
3) Water condensation on my right fog light which BMW refuses to change (haven't got the time to flood their phone lines with my comments yet)
4) Electronic seat that pumps up my side support (around my waist) deflates over time for the driver seat. Does not happen to my front passenger seat though
5) Jerky GB but after reprogramming, the car does not jerk especially upon take off
6) Musty AC fixed under warranty
Apart from the above, my car beautifully and consistently returns 700km for town drive and nearly 900km for outstation drive (for a tank of 55-56Ls) and I have a heavy right foot. As for the engine noise, pretty much got use to it and turning up the radio does help but love the sound of the turbos spooling when you drive through a tunnel with the windows down. Currently servicing at every 10000km and do notice that engine becomes rough when approaching 10,000km. Will change engine oil every 5000km from now. Still love the torquey engine and have problems adjusting back to petrol powered cars (unless its with big cc or turbo charged). To sum up: No regrets in switching to diesel. Only wishing for I-Drive, Diesel-Euro 4 or better, sunroof, L6 and twin turbos to make this car better
