I have this issue of cats liking to sleep on my bonnet. It's stray cats, I think. How I find out is when I goto work in the morning, I see cat fur all over my bonnet, plus extra substances on the bonnet and some on my windscreen too!!! This happens so often I'm getting fed up. Is there any cat repellent which is safe for the car paint? Or what can I do to prevent this problem?

maybe the cats are looking after your DOG meeeeeeehhhhhh yeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaa

Haha... I have this problem too. Cat fur and muddy paws all over the bonnet and sometimes windscreen...

If there's anything worth trying I'd like to know as well...

Trap it !!! My dog barks at stray cats. Bought a big mouse trap , hanged a cutter fish . Caught , DEPORT them and problem solved.

Orange peel usually does the trick, I use it to keep cats off moto seat.

The worst is when they leave scratches!

Nemesis: orange peel - must they be dried before hand?

grace,

did you not hear unker RB recommending a bag of mothballs near the windscreen?

cats are territorial and they pee to mark their area...

may be we should pee on our cars to inform the cats that this is our UDMs ... so buzz off. :stupid:

he he he... sorry...

Has to be fresh so very wangi.

So this means when I eat the orange I leave the orange skin on my bonnet and the cats won't come?

Will the car paint be spoilt from the acid of the orange?

Grace, got this from the web, you could try it out and see...

"Cats are not keen on the smell of citrus either. So you could try using orange or lemon peel in your yard as a deterrent. Similarly some folks advocate coffee grounds, blood meal, cayenne pepper, lavender oil, lemon grass oil, citronella oil, peppermint oil and eucalyptus oil"

Good luck grace! :)

Rabbits work well.

Man i nearly throw up after Daniels post.

Anyway I wouldn't put on the paint Grace, just kind of on the wipers orange side down. The cats will smell it from quite far and stay off the paint.
