TT also never come, how to talk face to face, or rather, when TT, everybody keep quiet. Here, so much to talk about.. :D

Familiar tone? But its true... we had TT before, I very quiet wan.. :D Anyway, I think dust has settle and we shall not stir..

Aiyah apa mau gaduh2. Buang masa mau taip & pecah kapla mau pikir.
Baik kasi cuci u all punyer UDM. Then kasi polish kaw2. Later can sit & watch yr car & u will say Damn what a beauty!! hehehe

Peace.

I tell you when first I sit for PJ TT all talk about love for BMW nothing more.
Now when everyone wants pangkat the trouble starts.
Boys, fellows, phang yow just let it be.
Master Lee is a nice chap, just dont label him something else.
When someone can be so selfless.... thank him... so simple one. He is no more member of BMWCM parliament. Politics have crawled in.
Club feels some one can organise better than itself, feels threatened.
Just give Lee a kowtow.. he deserves it. If not than club can crawl into blackhole.
He did a good job. Let it be. Why club want glory, event over and done la.
Learn, diagnose, postmortem, understand, plan, then implement.
Why you all so like that, no comprendo!!
Give kudos when it is deserved not hijack... thats what you are doing.
Dont lose face just say that someone has done a good, if not, nice job.
The nation has enuff asslobangs alredi, do not add to it.
Being human is not a sin, remember that humility is sanity.

brudder you still dont see the point do you?we dont want glory, like i said earlier Mr. Lee desreves all the praises but at the end of the day dont say the club uselesslah, it takes a forumer to organiselah...no need to pay RM300 also can dolah what for want to pay Rm300lah...like i also said Mr. Lee did this on his own accord and didnt ask permission from the club to organise it which is already wrong, brudder I simply use your company and organise something can ah, without ur permission? but we didnt stop it bcos at the end of the day it was beneficial to the members/forumers here and also the recognition of Mr. Lee as a former committee, and the club didnt want to step in bcos we didnt want to steal Mr. Lee's glory as the organiser, on second thoughts we should have and all this probably would not have happened. Comprendo.

Eh! Black car very difficult to maintain le.. :( I use feather duster to dust in the morning, after a thorough wash the previous evening also can cause micro scratches le.. must be the bigger dust particle causing the problem. I wonder when Maguiar is coming out with a big no-scratch feather duster..

Otherwise, have to wake up real early to wash the car everyday lor... susah.. :(

Actually TT is very interesting wan, just double park your car in a long stretch, find a nice table, sit down with a cup of teh tarik, we gaze at each other's car... damn syiok wan.. having a loose pant on would be more comfortable.. :D Now u know why during TT, everybody quiet.. :D Everybody speechless.. :D

susu liam liam.. :D

XXX
the organisation of this gathering was started over 4 months or so,
if I can recall, but nothing was done to condone this event. Anyway it has
evented and I hope the klub can learn from this situasi and go about organising
some interesting events. The klub is not useless and never have I said so.
It has a lot of goodfellas and badasses like me, but together we can make a
difference, a better klub if angkong permits.
May I wish all of you a Keong Hee Huat Chye and may the Prosperity God
visit all our humble abodes. Celebrate with cheer!

Guys, just lemme share some thoughts and hopefully, get some consensus so that some of these recurring thorny issues can be put to rest once and for all.

Firstly, the Club must have an elected and functional Committee which must be guided by clear principles that are made known to all. Since this is a BMW car club, the overall guiding principle must be to propagate and enhance the ownership experience of owning a BMW.

It must be accepted though that a pro bono committee will have its limitations and shortcomings. This is a fact of life. So, what can be done? The best solution I can think of is to "encourage" members / forumers to "share" the load i.e. to organise events, contribute technical articles or findings etc.

For this to happen, the forum is the best medium and I must urge the committee to never again bring up the issue of members / forumers using the forum to organise events. This is a real bone of contention with members / forumers who might well share common goals with the committee in trying to make the Club better. I can't understand why there should be any restriction (including raising the issue of cost which seems really petty to me!). If the committee insist they be notified first, so be it, it's just a small formality. However, if it is a beneficial event, the committee must provide its approval expediently and allow the event to take its natural course i.e. no need to intervene if intervention or assistance has not been requested.

On the issue of membership, the committee and organisers have every right to accord privileges to official members. This is only right and hopefully, this provides incentive for forumers to join. However, forumers too are BMW enthusiasts, the feedstock for future membership and though they should be encouraged to join, they shouldn't be marginalised, including from organising events for all other forumers or a segment of it.

Let's have a reality check here ok! There are not many official events and un-official events can do well to supplement this deficiency! If members or even regular forumers want to orgynise un-official events, why stop it or restrict the use of the forum? If the use of the forum is allowed, why introduce the element of cost? Yet again, I do appreciate the fact that those events orgynise by the committee so far like Annual Dinner and the factory visit are events that would be monumental for an individual member or forumer to undertake and for that the committee deserves some credit without question! Keep up the good work before your retirement!

This is exactly what I wanted to say but how come u can phrase them a lot better wan? I also got go to school ma.. MBA somemore.. :(

No wonder your car also much better and shinier than mine... :(

No wonder u walk into BMW showroom in shorts, they ask u to sit down. I go in, they show me the door.. :(

since when are we I complaining abt cost and since when we dont allow forumers/members to organise things, infact we encourage it bcos there is so much the committee can do, but pls at least have the courtsey to let the club know what you are going to do b4 you post it up, the clubs name is at stake and we are the guardian of this stake, like I said can I use your company and go solicit funds or organise some event without your permission? For everybodies information all those postings in members meetup for drives and TT by the thread starter did actually ask the club permission first b4 they posted it

The 'Cost' subject was just an argument with Lee who sarcastically said the best things in life are free, if you didnt get what he was trying to say, it meant he didnt have to pay RM300 to be a member but could still organise/enjoy the clinic, so why pay to be a member and my argument was that it is not free to the club bcos the club bears the cost of this forum and he used it to organise this clinic so the best things in life are not free....I didnt mention that in future its going to cost you all...Mr. Lee took it upon himself to start this thread..

Maybe some guidelines will help clear things up for non-official BMWCM gatherings. I think XXX has a point that when its not officially an official event, we shouldn't label it as an official BMWCM event or that we are from the BMWCM for the event. Organizing the event is great and benefits everyone tho incl BMWCM.

Maybe in the future, we just be sensitive that any gatherings which have not been officially sanctioned by BMWCM, stays as just a gathering of BMW Owners instead of people from the BMW Club or a BMWCM event. I guess it only fair, as lets say if there is something which went majorly wrong, it help BMWCM and the committee clear its involvement in this self organized thingy. If its an official event, involvement by the BMWCM committee will help them shield any potential risks which could come up which may tarnish the name of the club.

So in summary - its fantastic that people do organize things which help fellow BMW Owners. But if its not official, we just be careful of not misrepresenting BMWCM and the committee. Its only appropriate IMHO.

sorry... a bit late to join in 'War of the words' thread...

E46 Fanatic.... echoed what you just said...:top:

I might par-take in Breaking Ranks within the Club....if i can get a straight honest answer from Lee here..

It might be for the good for all to know...

(sorry, sounds like a Judge):

'My dear Mr.Lee, when you had the idea of this detailing session, did you; or did you not mentioned or put fort to McG that were YOU representing the BMWCM Official Club or A Group of passionate BMW lovers ?'

Thanks...

Regards.

Astroboy,

Just curious, are you here and there in every thread to fuel feuds ?

i believe some mail received from someone has 'clouded' your mind......

My regards to you.

Pussy, wow, this is a remarkable point of view.

I guess this thread got side-tracked, yeah? Those who have opinions about whether activities can only be organized by official members, kindly start another thread. Or better yet, organize something.

Those who feel I have broken some rules, please start another thread, and explain what rules were broken, or PM me, or whatever. I'm happy to address all grievances. So far, I have heard none 'officially'.

Here is the topic again.

Detailing afficionados, please note, future detailing clinics or indeed other activities may not be free, since apparently, it costs the club some expenses.

So, this thread is to assess your feedback.

Would you pay for a detailing clinic, and if so, how much would you pay?

As XXX has pointed out, it costs money to run the club, so let's help out where we can. It's high time we return something to the community after all,

I am trying to assess whether I can help raise funds for the club by charging a fee for things like detailing clinic and such.

Other fund-raising activities could be :
  1. DIY Detailing - get some experienced forummers with tools, and show you guys the right technique, all for a small ticket fee
  2. Detailing TT - have a drink with fellow detailing freaks and get your car detailed at the same time, I can arrange for some discounts at a selected detailing shop; a small entrance fee will be charged
  3. Detailing Group Buy - group your orders to negotiate for discount; the club will take a fee of course
All funds raised will go toward the club.

Let's hear your thoughts.

Happy buffing.

i say Mr. Lee... i just wanted to know your answer....

btw, Welcome to BMWCM as a Official Member...
