Full tank can get me...
1) 600-650km for highway + urban consumption

2) 400-500km for urban consumption only (depending on traffic condition)

My 525i gave me 585kms on a full tank. It varies on traffic conditions and the way you drive.

Any different beween M54 engine and N52 engine in terms of fuel consumption ? By how much $$ ?

same with u haha

I'm sure silky is a very frugal driver :D
sometimes I like to floor the accelerator... to give me the oompphhh.... :vroam:

make no sense to drive bmw and save fuel...hahaha

bmw has made every effort to make the car enjoyable to drive including the fact that even if u drive it aggresively and excessively u still can do 300 to 400km in a single full tank...:top:

so no need to compare whose fc is better...better still compare who can hit the highest fc...then only can enjoy the car la...

yeah... 70 litres :top:
I think that the car guzzles a lot of petrol during acceleration... due to its heavy body... that's why I can see the real saving in fuel once it's in cruising mode :D

I agree, if you check on the OBC in the meter panel, once you get stuck at traffic jams or accelerate, the kms to refill figures drop. but once the car gets into cruising speed or fixed speed, the figures will increase gradually.

Here's something to share from my experience. Well, the tip to reducing fuel consumption from my experience is accelerate lightly (don't floor it) and do not accelerate and brake suddenly. This wastes fuel. Also try to let the transmission get to the highest gear as fast as possible. Try to use highways. Cars save fuel when they are cruising on highways. Use the cruise control to maintain a constant speed when possible (do not use during rainy seasons as it may cause aquaplane - rise up onto a thin film of water between the tires and road so that there is no more contact with the road causing you to lose control). Try to maintain the Energy/Economy meter at about 22km/l. That gave me an average fuel consumption of 7.8km/l and covering a distance of 585km on one ocassion on my M54 engine. :) Hope this helps.

Last week I drove up fr KL to Penang and back with 1 tank full. Loaded up full at Jln Duta toll before departing KL, and finally fuel almost finished when reaching back Duta toll the next day. Abt 700km. Average hwy consumption is 9L/100km, cruising between 100-140km/h due to rain, family around and crazy jam at Penang bridge.

My normal KL/PJ city traffic consumption is around 10.x-11.xL/100km, which gave abt 600+/- per tank.

Mine is the lowly 523i N52.. so those higher power n sup-up car shd be higher.

drive slow slow no fun la...better drive kelisa la if wan to save fuel...
