Hi all,
Just replace my D/Vanos seal yesterday at WP Auto and coincidentally meet few of our OM there too. Hi guys nice to meet u all yesterday especially Mr Herbert thanks a lot for the so much racun ha..ha...(Nice M-sport 3 spoke steering ya..)
For you's all information after i replace the seal, i feel my pick up and low end torque slightly improve and FC i still can't see any difference. Maybe the seal was still new, i notice the engine sound of my car was slightly rough now compare with before and hope it will be fine. FYI my E46 engine was M52 6 potter clocked 157k km.

replaced the vanos seals (diy) on my m52b28 and the following are felt:
1. smoother gear change from 1 - 2
2. better engine start up
3. much improved lo end torque

YES....guy after running 150km i feel the pick up and low end torque respond of my car really difference then before. Still need to observe and see the slight rattling sound from the vanos will gone or not when it was fully break-in after 320km as stated by Beisan System.
Anyway hope for those haven't change their seal just sent your car to change it and u will never regret.
Once again thanks to our OM Mr Herbert to bring in a such good stuff for our udm.

Alex,

Good to hear your ride is beginning to get the low torque performance as it should be for a 325i. As for the rattling noise early in the morning (when the engine is cold), don't think breaking the vanos seals will resolve this rattling noise. You will need a rattle kit to resolve it. However if you are able to tolerate this slight noise early in the morning, then just let it be. Enjoy you new found performance.

hii bro mine is e46 4 potter... applicable to change the beisan vanos seal as well?

We will only be able to advise if you give us more information on your engine i.e. M52TU or M54 and etc etc.

just changed my vanos seals last week at WP Auto. clocked nearly 800km since then. having better pick-up at 1st gear. :p. consumption still monitoring. maybe lower cause everytime tekan. hahaha. but i noticed that in the morning, once i start the car, the car seems to rattle a bit as the revs are lower with the rev needle just a bit above the 500rev white line. After 30 secs when warmed up, then only gone.

Try filling a full tank of Shell V-Racing Power (the red nozzel one) as this fuel will also clean all your fuel injectors.

VANOS seals operation

by the way, attaching some photos of the Vanos operation done at WP Auto. the engine was in a fairly clean / well maintained state.

I have fitted my beisan double vanos seals and so far has travelled about 1200km already. My car is E46 325i year 2004. My avg fuel consumption before is about 11.5L/100km and after installing the beisan seals, the fuel consumption has fluctuate from initial 12.8L/100km to current date of about 11.7L/100km. Also, there is some loss of power compared to before I change the beisan seals. Does anyforumers out there are facing this problem, especially from the double vanos engine owners?
In my opinion, I see there is no significant improvement by fitting this beisan seal for DOUBLE vanos engine or anyone wishes to comment?
