Planning for this trip is full steam ahead.......sourcing for suitable and affordable accommodations are being carried out as we speak. Most probably will be departing KL on the 2nd Day of CNY which is the 4th February 2011......stay tuned for updates within this week.

We are basically taking all obstacles into consideration with assistance/advise from some seniors which have experience in this kinda drives......for those departing from KL, the distance maybe around 900km thus we will be making an overnight stop at Haadyai before moving north, either Krabi or Phuket. As spouses and family will be going along, we are ensuring that it will be fun for the whole family......some may treat this like an early, yearly family vacation.......

Note : For all Muslim Borthers, NOT to worry, Halal food is plenty at either these two locations. Based on my two years working in Thailand, Middle Eastern and Arabic food is plenty in Thailand.

Lets see whether we can get 20 cars for this drive........I will most probably meet you guys somewhere at Juru Toll as I will be in Penang a few days before this drive.

Krabi have to stay in Aonang Beach area. Must find a Resort wth plenty of parking.

waaah looks like many members here with knowledge of these surroundings. Getting more and more interesting. Very easy and useful for the CMs to make the best plan out of it..... but WHATEVER it is ........ sometimes even the best well planned event may not satisfy everybody. So the CMs please do not be weakhearted. We know u all are doing the best to make this drive a memorable one.

......hmmmmmm now im beginning to wonder can join or not

Suggested Route A - Sungai Buloh R&R to Haadyai, Thailand

For those traveling from KL, the meet up point will most probably be at Sungai Buloh, R&R, may be as early as 6:00AM....Route A will take us about 517km ( estimated ). Note that we will need some time to cross the Border into Thailand ( clearing immigrations, shopping at the Duty Free Outlet at BKH, Changlun ). Estimated arrival will be past noon just in time for lunch at Haadyai.....Danok to Haadyai is a mere 70km at max.

Suggested Route B1 - Haadyai to Krabi, Thailand

Route B1 from Haadyai to Krabi will be estimated at 261km, taking us through highway route 4, entering Krabi via the South passing the Sea Side scenery. Departure time from Haadyai will most probably be at about 8ish the next morning, spending one night in Haadyai. Should be in Krabi by lunch time.

Route B2 - Haadyai to Phuket, Thailand

Route B2 will the alternative destination which is the beautiful island of Phuket, estimated at 418km from Haadyai. Might break at Krabi for Lunch before moving to Phuket. There might be strong traffic entering the Island. From Krabi to Phuket is slightly below 200km.
