In the website it mentioned for F30 the audio system is having 16 Harmon Kardon speakers ... am guessing this for the 335 ...But in the brochure for 328i ... it mentioned 9 speakers ... no mentioned of brand ... Anybody know what is the speaker brand in 328i ? As for a RM290k the audio have no match against the cheaper basic audio in the A4 ...Any idea how to improve the sound quality ?

Audi's sound system normally equipped with either Bose or B&O and its not a cheap system bro. The system is far better compared to Harmon Kardon.

The 328i comes with Harmon Kardon system with 9 speakers. IMHO they are as good as it gets compared to the Audi. If you want sound refinement and clarity add some Simonte Active Filters which doesn't need too much bludgeoning of your car.

no.. the 9 speakers in 328i. are Panasonic speakers.

if it is Harmon/Kardon, it will be shouted across the room. some of these salesperson are not well-trained so they just "con"vince you.

CBU has 6 speakers only. which are also 6 Panasonic speakers.

The SKD F30 328i comes with the BMW HIFI Speaker System, code S676. Comes with 9 speakers and a 205watt amp.

yes. its BMW HIFI speaker system, but its actually Panasonic.

most car companies do not advertise the original source of products while branding it theirs.

Has anyone attempted upgrades or seen any threads where the speakers/subs have been upgraded?
Can the sub be upgraded without adding/replacing the amp?

if you mod anything, you will void the warranty.

you touch the electrical or electronic parts, you will lose your warranty.

328i has sub-par sound system. i feel this area, the stock C250 is much better.

If you get direct replacement speakers upgrade designed for the model which uses back the same connectors it should be fine. coz there isnt any warranty sticker like on every door panel etc etc :p

the stock sound system that comes with A4 1.8 (RM240k with the power and handling to match) is very very much better that the 328 ... just imagine if opt with the B&O (add RM6k) ... it will be a blast ...

PS: only thing that I did not book the A4 is because of the cabin size which is a bit cramp at the rear ....

so it could be Panasonic speakers ... on a RM290k ... if 328 is using Panasonic than it should be the same for the 320I and 320D ... is it a normal practice by BMW when they come out with the facelift they will put better sound system and maybe the keyless comfort access ... and whatever the current owner complain ...

The E90 has good sound system with 2 subs under the seats, which was an improvement over the E46. The F30 now should be just as good sound quality wise if not better.

Pity BMW doesn't offer a retrofit to their speakers to the HK. Of course the HK system has more speakers so retrofitting will be tricky but at least if they can offer a better sound system it would be good.
I guess I'll have to live with the existing setup - at least until the warranty runs out...

actually. actually.

panasonic speakers arent half as bad as the brand reputation plays out to be.

yes. they do make entry level goods. but they do have some really good products. heck, they even have some reference speakers in Japan.

however, i believe that the 9 speakers in our 328i are slightly better grade than the 320d. ive tried both. the 320d ones seem hollow in the mid-range.

the bass goes like this prap, prap, prap, that is bmw quality, not using caps for the brand name on purpose

to be honest, the B&O upgrade on the audi's are far too overrated, just like their home theatre systems. its good stuff but like those Beats by Dr. Dre headphones its not worth so much money.

Yes, that's how cheap BMW can go on the sound system....my E36 last time got "Nokia" speakers....cheapskate BMW! Even the Optima K5 got Infinity system, Mazda CX5 got Bose....BMW got Nokia and Panasonic??? And it is supposed to be in the "luxury" category. Pardon my rant lah :)

i have been ranting abt the sound system since before launch!328i esp luxury shud get the harman kardon!!y not huh??

agreed, i wasnt impressed by audi's B&O in their a4 2.0.

the best stock sound system i've heard was in the 508. 508 has 10 JBL speakers and a Sub.

that set was amazing. powerful and decently accurate.
