The F10 528i was indeed a superb car. The car is not meant for the old skool. meaning it have all the gadget
that make your ipad look like a toy.

I-drive have a better display. It is conceal when the car is stopped and pop up when the engine is started.
A HUD (head up display) can be enable or disable with a push of a button.

There are no hand brake and parking brake are done with a push of a button.

When el118 was doing the emergency brake, AY39 and me were holding the armrest. The SC
told us it was not necessary. Going around the corner at 80kmh and doing emergency brake
the car stop without fishtailing. The car is intelligent enough to turn on the hazzard light by itself
to warn others.

The suspension have 4 modes. Comfort, Normal, Sport and Sport+. I like the sport and sport+.
The comfort is kind of strange as it give the feeling that you are "floating".

btw, thank to ken (SC) for allowing to test drive at a short notice.

and ay39 for a nice afternoon..

I don't understand your description of the idrive, isn't it identical across the range of local f10?

I think the latest version of idrive incorporated the safety measure that it will turn into blank/logo screen when the car is in motion.

Sorry, paul for the layman description on the I-Drive.. The comment was from another guy who drive an E39 comparing his nav/sat
with the I-Drive which he say that the new I-Drive have wider screen. His Sat/Nav is located below the aircon duct whereas the I-Drive was located on top of the dashboard which make viewing easier.

don't you guys feel that the driver is 'disconnected' from the road?

i test drove the 520d, 523i, 528i and 535i and all of them gave me nausea and headache after driving it spiritedly...u feel like you are the passenger...very Merc like...

i test drove the e60 and e39 again and one thing very profound is the direct feel to the road that these two provides but not on the F10...i was toying with the idea of getting the 535i but don't like it coz if I want a Merc i will buy a Merc...

i hope the F10 M5 does not drives like the other siblings does...of not huge disappointment...

T2, that what I meant about the "floating" feeling. I felt "sea sick" in the car when on comfort mode. However, the seasick
feeling was gone when on sport mode..

yeah, we test the car over a road bump @ 60km/h and there was no bang sound. SC say all new F10 have new
improved system. (whatever that means)

Ken is one of the better SA around.

The car's suspension is at its optimum setting when set to Normal. Of course, some will find it too hard or soft and hence now we have Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. Just beware when it is set to Sport Plus, traction control is switched off!!

As for the emergency hazard lights, the latest E90 325i also has this feature.

the sport mode in the F10 is too soft for me...I was hoping that the 528i M-Sports comes with the M-Suspension tuning but tarak wor...so disappointing...

unfortunately BMW AG don't want hardcore BMW customers like me anymore thay prefer Merc customer coz they richer... :(

the emergency brake hazard light was already on the e6x cars and the version 2 is the one with blinking function started from the e9x LCI models...this comes from the new LCM-2 lights module...

that's sad...to enjoy BMW like in the past now u have to pay premium...:(

the e60 5xx M-Sports was the last proper 5-series for me...:p

Because you buggers are rich ma! hahahaha....

528 F10 is an expensive car (RM400K+) so if I'm the buyer, I would also expect all these gadgets to be in place. All the F10 I-drives are the same and for those with E60, we can also retrofit it in if money is not a problem :) I've tried all 4 modes on the 523i, all of them are great and I don't have problems with them. However the difference between comfort and normal seems to be rather minimal. On the other hand, the sports + makes a big difference. The other good thing is we can select whether we want the car to only change the suspension, transmission or both whenever we change modes.

Now I wonder how much a single absorber would cost if it fails :) Thanks to active suspension.

T2 I find the body control is much better on the F10 compared to E60..however don't really like the run flat..never driven a merc before so can't comment on that..

If I may quote, bro aoch88, you need to have experience in driving E39 M5 for a certain amount of time to try to understand what T2 is trying to tell us :)
