DAMN!!!the build quality was superb but the interior was drab and spartan..my other half didn't like the car one bit as she was praying with eyes shut the whole time.i on the other hand was wearing a smile so wide i cudn't contain my saliva from drooling!! :nyehehe: wonder how a supercharged E46 328i wud compare..i mean in terms of driving pleasure that is..pace wise i don't think the bimmer wud have a chance though even in supercharged form.. :(

wah... evo8.. dun be surprised.. i overtook one on the sepang straight.. but then again, i believe they are resticted to 180km/h.. ur 328, if supercharged, shud match its 300bhp?

High-ego BMW owners won't give a shit to Jap crab!!!!
also valid point.. :D no need la bro, ur 328 is 'nicer' in most departments.. apart from pace, like u said..

It really depends on what you want, my EVO7 had a horribly cheap interior, with firm seats, and rear view with the big wing sucked. Not many knew about maintenance of the AYC back then, so getting proper service wasn't easy, as you have to deal with Ah Fatt or whatever "specialist" under the tree, fixing your car with his 6th sense, not MODIC :D

Sure, the EVO was fast, but it wasn't refined as a BMW. If you are looking for boosted, raw power, the EVO is your car. Otherwise, I think you are better off with a UDM. No wife/gf will prefer the ride of an EVO to a UDM. You know that :)

I am more of a "corner-carver," and I prefer the tail-out FR feel of a UDM, none of those "zero-counter" 4WD for me... It's all personal preference.

Anyway, the faster the car, the more trouble you get yourself into :D

Happy driving!

:D DrGoh..u are 100% right about the wife/gf thing..i guess that's the main reason i'm driving the bimmer as opposed to the Evo7 that i almost bought.

i'm still torn between keeping my bimmer and SC'ing it OR getting an Evo8/9 OR Impreza STi 2005.

as it is i'm leaning more towards keeping the bimmer cuz u can't deny that the inline is a much sweeter beast..in SC form it'll be fabulous!! but i just can't get away from that slingshot feeling of the Evos.. dunno man..

No doubt that the Evo cars are powerful & super responsive. I test drove a friend's Evo 7 a few years ago when it was stock standard and the car just pulled cleanly in any gear. I was just amazed at the acceleration & traction - very high limits indeed. Kinda reminds me of a superbike. In fact it comes close to a superbike. Just pure brute power. Car definitely has a very firm ride akin a dead suspension. Later on my friend removed the speed cut-off, changed inlet manifold & exhaust system, increased boost and it just goes like stink - leaving every vehicle on the road like they were not moving.

I really wouldnt mind having a car like this - it is outrageously fast and sure footed. You cant compare it to your UDM. Its made for a totally different reason. Definetly a Bang-for-buck car - near supercar performance but for a lot less money.

:p u nailed it bro..its like superbike fast man!!

yeah, can't compare it to a bimmer cuz they are different beasts..one's a werewolf, brute force without grace and finesse while the other is a vampire with deadly elegance and charm...

whatever it is,its still addictive.. heard the evo9 has got at least 300bhp in standard guise.imagine having mivec and turbo in one package..sick!! and i love the aero bits on the evo9,ducts and fins even under the rear bumper.

damn, can't shake it off la..i need that supercharger my bimmer really BAD!! then i'll have a charming graceful vampire with a werewolf's brute force to boot!!!
(cue Underworld the movie!!)

hmmmmmm......

:nyehehe: i can feel the racun in my bloodstream already..wud it be from the fangs of a beautiful vampire(cue Kate Beckinsale aka 'Selene') or the bite from that ugly werewolf??

..or maybe both!! threesome!!!!! whooohh!!!

i'll call my ride 'Selene' from now on..

Bro, u can always go to www.motortrader.com.my, select sports car section. A few evo's available there. Side track a little bit, i was in Switzerland for the past few weeks. A brand new EVO 9 cost a tad above 50k Swiss franc. That's approx. RM150k here.. :p

it depends on what you want.

if you want (relatively cheap) raw speed & thrill, get the evo/sti

if you want decent performance with comfort, get the bimmer/audi

if you want a flying carpet ride, get the lexus or rolls royce.

you can't have it all......................or can you?
