here's my 2 cents bro...didn't know u accident la..hope everyhting is fine.
Am I lacking in any parts? Would there be enough fuel? pump? Injectors? Price? How would I know?
easiest is u get external pump, then slot it somehwere cool and safe from water etc. otherwirse modify internal pump. but best to get a fuel tank with a electric pump. if carby tank, then u better change la. no baffles sommore, dangerous. unless u always make sure at least tank is half full.
but u're injectors also important. if u upgrade too big, thne later too rich. heheh. too small injectors, then lean out. confusing eh?
Problem is, I wouldn't know if its stock tank and pump or not. The car has been running for over a year also no problems ma. How much would the pump and injectors cost?
b)
If not, do I need something like an E-Manage or AFC? Price?
piggybacks are good. but standalones are better. but more $$$. but ultimately give u total control. but tuner has to be competant.
I'll test the car once its ready and let it run in first. Then I'll go from there to see what needs to be done. Budget blown sky high! But if I'm going to it, I might as well spend a little more on E-Manage.
c)
I'm currently boosting at 1.1bar. Is that too high? Too low?
any boost is too high if u're car is not tuned right. if u really don't know u're settings, then best stick to original boost. safest.
Hmmm, again, I'll see how it goes after the car comes out. However, my mech did tell me that I can boost up to 1.4 bar as well. Change turbine, injectors, fuel pump and ECU
d)
With the new oversized pistons, my engine capacity would have increased right? To what? 1.8? 2.0?
if u dun have piggyback/standalone ecu, no point u play with engine capacity. u will never extract optimum/reliable power. and reliabilty is also affected, especially when boost comes into play with high revs, unless its a proper aftermarket stroker kit. but lot of ppl will disagree with me la, saying home-made stroker is fine. but if u just changed u're piston head, then u're increase in capacity is very little...maybe between 50-100cc's.
best thing is to save your money and get an ecu first. forget about the injectors, fuel pump etc etc. get an ecu, tune to as close to 100% of whatever items you have now. from there start upgrading if u want. but if u're current parts are due for a change, then no harm in upgrading for the future. but stuff like bigger injectors will be difficult, becoz u're std ecu will not be able to compensate.
if u ask me, since u're looking for something to last you for a long time, get a standalone. u can alter both iginition and fuel maps, to go with your engine, and other items. once u max out u're engine on whatever u have now, u might not even want to upgrade for a long time, due to 'cukup powah'
hows that for saving money?
