Hi guys, i have actually got a tuner from Tuned i-Chips ( www.tunedichip.com ) down in Malaysia right now looking to penetrate into the Malaysian market. Based on his expertise he is able to remap almost all european and japanese cars to increase bhp. He's brought all his equipment along. Currently he is on the verge of hooking up with a workshop in sunway as well.Anw, as a favour i promised to introduce him to this club so that he can explain about his program and to see if anyone is interested. So guys, pls refer to the website above for any additional info. He's got experience with BMWs ranging from E28 right up till the latest. All inquiries are welcomed on this thread. Pls pm me for his number for any inquiries. Workshop owners are welcome for inquiries as well.Cheers guys.Long live BMW.. :top:

How it remapped?
Do you have to resolder the chip inside ECU ?
Will it have data-logging capability ?
How "tunable" is the chip ? +/- % ?

from the last time I heard... my E60 with N52 engine still can't be tuned... can your friend do that???
Thanks man :top:

checked out the website already...
"525i 2.5 02-07 218hp/250Nm 233hp/270Nm " is this the N52 engine model??? I found this under the product "BMW" category... just need to make sure...

By the way, increase of 18hp and 20Nm from the original
... what is the difference??? I have never really tuned up my ride before
... any implication to the car's overall performance?
... what is the price indication???

and if there's significant increase in performance and maximum speed, I will seriously consider this ECU re-map. PLease PM Me... thanx :top:

Hi,This is Zakie from Tuned I-Chips. All BMW's upto date can be tuned but unfortunately I haven't bought the equipment for these new models like the E60 and the 3 series E90. All other models can be done.
The older car's you have to replace the chip inside the ECU but for post 2000 models its done thru the diagnostic port.

For pricing and dealership inquiries kindly pm me or JDY. If its ok with the moderator I can place my contact no. here.

Cheers

you mean Obermaier??? I haven't really asked Freddy... I'd called Exotic Mods @ Sunway Damansara + Eurocar @ Segambut... they said that they can only do HIOP on M54 engines and not N52. Will try to pay Freddy a visit if so...

It is possible to tune N52 engines but only if it has the MVS-70 ECU i.e. pre-2007. My E92 comes with an N52N engine with the MVS-80 ECU which HIOP has only recently been able to hack. Unfortunately, even Freddie haven't invested in this latest kit to tune the MVS-80 cos word has it that BMW is introducing another variant of ECU which this latest kit can't hack into.

We can expect BMW to continuously upgrade the security features of ECUs to prevent tuning. After all, it's to safeguard their market i.e. why buy a 525i when you can tune a 523i to be more powerful. Same goes for tuning 335i that can outsprint an M3.

My E60 is year 2005... first batch of N52 engine I guess :D
So, is it the MVS-70 ECU??? How to determine which type is mine?? Thanks

Aha...that is where you are wrong :)

hmm...try using realoem.com. Punch in your the last 7-digits of your vin and you should know. I believe you have the MVS-70 and yes, it is the ECU (also known as the DME)

I'd put the last 7-digits of my VIN... but then I don't know how to proceed further... I clicked "Browse parts"...
What else??? There are "Main Group" and then "Sub Group"... pengsan!!!

The Guru has spoken. Please enlighten us on why is it not possible to map a 335i's ECU to outsprint an M3? After all, stock times are only 0.6 secs apart to 100 kmh. Unless you have tried personally, hahahaha! :top:

Ah...I thought your argument was the opposite ie BMW will try to add security features to prevent cars from being modified, as like you said, the 335 when modded can outsprint an M3

My point is that DESPITE added security measures by BMW, 335s remain tunable

Hi motoman,

Hows the tune that we did to your car cos haven't heard from you since. Do take care specially with the buses.

Cheers

tuned

yo bro zakie glad u hav reached KL..its been one hell week for me..sigh..niwayz make an appointment wif zakie to reflash my ecu some days back.however being an old e36..was told its was nt possible to reflashed:eek:the only posibility was to chip it.

i list all engine mods done to the car and zakie hav it send to a 3rd party in europe to design a map to b written to a chip which best suits my mods.

cut a long story short..take out the ecu..remove the chip..insert new chip..put back the ecu..wahlah its time to test drive my ride..pick a nice spot and i whacked the damn shit outta the car..:stupid:

hmmm nt bad i thought..give it another shot.woooot!!!impressive but not too overly

suddenly i felt the car a tad lighter than usual..the rev in lower gear climbs faster than norm..manage to hit the redline in 1st n 2nd gear..a 1st in my driving record..suddenly i felt the car has abundance of power everywhere:rolleyes:a step more responsive than before..

conclusion

i'm impressed but i wouldn't race an m3 or wrx anytime soon..hehe..yet to have my ride dyno'ed to get the real gains in numbers..all in all i'm satisfied but i think it can be better..wat say u Zakie??!!

I you can, PM your contact number. I am interested to do something for my E39 528i.

Cheers

hmm..i tot the website said the HQ is in Sri Lanka?? but the programming is done in Europe? weird. anyways, a dyno before and after would show best. on the same car, same dyno :)
