dis is the tuner which i find out,, thanks to u lionel-koh.. for me, if just copy and paste the map, its not increase a lot. every car have different compression and different condition..ill contact after porting my car maybe next 2 weeks.

hmm....u tuning urself at BVO?? i'm not sure if Bernard can help you or not. might have to do transplant laaa....kambing one about same size.

let us know the results k....show us the dyno b4/after, how far can shoot now

A bit cuntfused here... which one are you gonna tune... the M5, the 3 silli or or ....

Anyway, if you are thinking of tuning the 3 silli, better upgrade the engine first. No matter how you tune it, no way is it gonna "challenge" ur M5... unless you have gone the FI route already (and not telling us)!

heheh....u ask ur e39 frend also to tune one shot la. can get group discount. then u both can do owner tuning also in ghey-lang ghee parlour.

cos 328 not using chipping like M50 or M20 engine......Even M50 with EWS, u cant simply buy a custom performance chip and plug in ..........

i think his asking either his car need mapping or just chipping not either his car need to remap or not ..............I maybe wrong but tis wat i feel .............

yup lionel, im a little confused and very scared to touch the factory settings... now u hv made it clear tat no chipping for my 328..

also very curious to know the after results... maybe got to let you test my car first... so far performance/acceleration wise is good except for the lazy gearbox at low revs... i cannot get the power when i want it - usually while cruising around 80kmh at top gear.. power usually kicks in after 2500rpm(+-)... is this normal??

and yes will be great if you could explain further on how the remap will increase performance...

It all depends the chip that is being used in the Siemens ECU.

The first batch Siemens ECU (year 95 with EWS) used similar chip like the Bosch ECU and you can't do a flash remapping.

Cars with Bosch 413 ECU manufactured in 95 with EWS, also use non-flash-able chip, which need the chip to be replaced with a new one with upgraded mapping.

I think we need to be clear on which ECU can do remapping.

Generally the tuner will want to know what ECU is on your car to verify if its flash-able.

Lionel, why dont you inform this thread on the cost to do this remapping and what is it inclusive of.
I feel it will help the general public and also allow more of your customers to consider for a remapping.

My fren can do either chipping or flashing with or without EWS .............

Of cause for those using chip without EWS can always buy a custom performance and plug in to ur car and u save lot of time and money as well as u can get it cheap from Ebay (of cause not the ori one )...............

But if u upgrade ur car like stroker kit , cam , open pot , exhaust etc ............On car mapping or chipping sure better and if u willing to pay , then on dyno mapping or chipping will be the best .........

Can he identify the maps required now? The last time he was trying it via trial and error methodology.

He still has some of my upgraded maps stored in his laptop.
