Dear all...On friday night i was on NKVE heading back to Shah Alam and was raining a little bit. On the exit to Shah Alam, there're around 2 rather sharp cornerings. i wasnt on a fast speed ...just around 50-60km/h. On the first corner, actually my car already skidded a little bit, but i did not pay too much attention to it ..just feel that i might be a little over-sensitive. But when it comes to the 2nd cornering...my car was basically drifting out ..i could nearly see the divider infront of me, and then i managed to pull the car back. i then continued turning on the long corner...my car skidded the 2nd time !!! i was like WTF ...i'm so slow ...my tyres are still thick...and yet i drifted without myself realizing it. throughout both these corners ..i basically skidded 3 times ....scary weeyyyy....Anyone knows why this happens ? anything wrong with my car or its just that the road is slippery ??i heard mechanics telling me before that Beemers are equipped with some car stability/safety features which is assisting in cutting the car's power whenever the car is skidded or something. Need some advise over here ...:bawling:

i also had that in mind....but then thinking of it ..there were other cars which were faster ahead of me and they were safe...weird..=S

the most ridiculous and freakiest comment i received was that ....the mention it was the "ghost festival" ...so they were pushing the rear of my car ...=S lol...

Dude, your car is what year? At a bare minimum it would have come with ASC. It is likely that even at the low speed bcos of the way you entered the corner the car was already oversteering/understeering all be it only a little and the ASC may have been intermittent. This can be the likely explanation if you confirm that your tires and shocks and drivetrain/chasis/bushes/arms all in order. Apart from that, there could be theories ranging from oil spill to ghosts......this one I cannot help la bro...you need to look for Ramsing la for help

ssmann...my car is 2007. rather shocked to see it skidding. even when i was with my previous Vios and Mazda6 ...no such issues before. the "drifting" was like easier than playing Need for Speed on my fone ...lol

hahha ..let me bring my car to temple to "open light" ...lol...

Front or rear skid?

When was the last time you check your alignment? I'm suspecting your car has toe-out and positive camber setup like the drift cars.. :1:

What tyre u running? Air pressure?

wahhhh...this one now getting more and more technical liao...lol ...
i super noob in all the detailed specs of the car ...

i think it should be the rear that skidded ...coz it was the ass of the car that was moving outwards ...

let me check check on the tyre later and come back to you ...all i know its 19" niaa..

Can be rear absorber kaput too, or front absorber too stiff.. :1: did any mod lately?!

When u did your alignment and by who also cannot remember meh?! If more than a year ago, I suggest you check alignment first, that include the rear camber.. :1:

hehe... luckily you got skill ya?! to handle drifts.. :1:

Is it the corners going up the ramp to the shah alam exit toll? I lost control there too. Think the problem with that two corners if you lose a bit of traction on the first you are for sure have to oversteer or understeer to get back control but the second corner comes to fast then combined with the slick road and quite a steep gradient... buang! Then after that corner it goes downhill to the tolls so again buang Lucky for you nothing major just the shock of your life i bet! Loads of accidents there. Don't how many times they replaced the barriers there, that's why you see it looks brand new compared to the ones on the highway.

Oh...for the alignment..I never did anything to it before because I just got my car early last month ...I bought I recon...

Hahaha...the skills are learnt from Need for Speed..kekeke...! Highly recommended for those who wants to learn to drift...lol..jk jk...

Hahaah...by seeing what said here...means I'm quite safe to say that there were nothing "ghosty" happening back there due to the hungry ghost festival...lol

Till now just couldn't believe that at such low speed..car also can buang ...=s

Now got bit bit phobia Liao...when it comes to cornerings especially raining time...I'll be damn slow...and holding damn tight to the steering...lol

Sometimes it's the oil on our Malaysian roads because technically the car should not skid so easily. Try to drive slower especially on rainy days.

Yea...ok..! If it's really those tow truck guys....they're definitely going to get cursed from me ...ishhhh..! But for now..I rule out any foul-play first...:)

are the running water on the road? or just wet?
Also wider tyres are more prone to aquaplaning in the wet.
And what tyres are u running now at the rear? how old? some tyres are harder once past certain tread percentage.
oversteering at 50-60kph is still a bit worrying. are u underdeclaring the speed??? :p

that time was still a little drizzling and the floor was wet....
the tyres i not too sure how old ..coz when i receive my car last month ..i check and the tyres are still quite new (masih ada bunga)..
aiyo broo....no under declaring laa ...i still remember quite fresh that even when buang that time ..the motion was also very slow ....

Last few months I was driving Mitsubishi Triton and at 50 km/h, the whole car also skidded and bang onto the divider. At least your BMW is perfectly fine (driver also pro, drive also pro) :D

my car fish tailing when I'm accelerating between 50-80km/h, and one time it was so bad, i thought i had a puncture.... doubt it's the torque haha... pretty sure bushes need changing. perhaps you're sharing the same problem with me?
