hi guys, just bought my 318ci, im having problem with my coolant...heheh i was so surprised when found out there was no reserve tank for beemer...the problem that i facing now is that my coolant is always dry, but the engine is not overheated at all and my oil engine never reduce..for rm120 my full tank can go 700km city+highway with 18" rim...

need your guys advice what should i do and check for the coolant system..and can you recommend me the mechanic shop near PJ or shah alam...

Mr car has started 'makan' engine oil... have to use higher SAE engine oil. before this I use 5w40 or 10w40 shell.

Wow, mineral oil for E46? Do you feel any difference in performance when using this Mach 5 20w-50?

Btw, my missus' E46 2.0 had the issue of makan minyak too until we switched to Total 10w-50 (fully synth).

I am afraid there is nothing you could do but to knock your head against any wall. You have been conned!! It is for this very reason why many potential and current beemers are in BMWCM for there are plenty of useful information.

ermm...i tough my engine m54 also..after checked it m52..want to cry nowww...like to buy new lancer gt..i hope the saleman will die soon...can i make report on this or slow talk again with the saleman..the shop still have in klang..

As Herbert mantioned, you were conned and it's always advisable to know about the car before buying. Google and BMWCM helps allot. There are differences between M52 and M54 which you can notice. Another thing is that you should bring someone who knows about these cars along to atleast check.

thanks bro..it ok now..im happy with my car performance and new paint..just the radio and the car year 1999 not 2001..i like my car..i upgrade my car step by step but no too much...

hi all!!!just want to share my experience with my e46. currently, I sent my car this month to Ultra Tune (as reckon by sifus in this forum) to replace brake piping for left rear brake due to some leakage and the brake is not balance and tend to move to the left. the brake caliper also need to be replaced due to corrosion. I also asked them to paint my rim, brake caliper and disc brake. so here are the cost;

brake piping (machining in factory) : rm150
disc brakes (rear) (2nd with 80%) : rm380
caliper rear (both) (2nd) :rm370
paint rim all : rm720
paint caliper all : rm780
paint brake disc all : rm80
brake oil : rm80
alignment/balancing : rm70
labour : rm720 (include services the brake, check the steering rack, anti-rust paint,inspection,wash,vacuum and polish,refill fuel tank)
government tax 5%

overall the customer services is very good 5star!!I totally reckon this workshop.they are totally helpful.they done so much to my car.very neat workmanship!! now I can be on the road with smile everyday!!
