Hi all sifus,

This is my first time contribute to this forum.... Did my first service and some parts replacement today with Ah Meng a.k.a Kenny at Mspeed usj... below are the details:

First impression : Very friendly person
Location : a bit tricky at the first time, but easy to get there
Service : Castrol 5-40 fully synthetic + oil filter + labour + GT1 checking = RM150/=
Parts replacement : 2 x Camshaft sensor (RM800) + ATF change (RM600) +Delkor MF battery (RM430) + update software (RM200) = RM2000 (RM30 discount)
Total : RM2150 (ini bulan, wa makan loti loh)
Verdict : Smoother engine and transmission plus more pickup
Rec : Highly recommended as they performed the jobs professionally...

hahaha... sorry, i dunno what is the correct word to use... perhaps may be engine reprogramming is more suitable..

Another things that pending to change are ZKE and also EWS modules.. any idea how much it will cost me?

ZKE is a module that controls all other 29 relays in our e46. Any one of the relay "kaput" sadly, we'll need a new set that cost RM1999!

I got a new ZKE when my autolock/immobiliser relay when kaput!

Glad, u did ur service at MSpeed. He's having a promotion now for 4 & 6 cyclinders!

cheers!

wat kinda of promotion are they having?
mind to share?wanna service my car soon,
need to know where to go..or should i go back to AB?

Yes, NKTOB.. definitely you r rite, their service are quite cheap and professional, i must say ... went back to see Doctor Kenny of Mspeed Medical Center last saturday... He did second diagnose and he suspected that may be my ZKE is ok.. the problem might be the improper audio player wiring..Sending back to him this wednesday.. hopefully it can save my meals budget..

0-100, I advise you to go for GT1 check at Mspeed.. Try to see Dr Kenny.. very friendly person.. no need to go to AB loh unless you still have the warranty.. the direction as given by previous forumer is as below:

MSpeed USJ is a BMW Specialist workshop direction :

Go towards USJ Summit, take left till u see Giant on ur left @ traffic light junction.

Take the right turn @ traffic light juction, go straight ( u'll see row of factories on ur left )

Next traffic light, straight still until u see Wisma Texchem ( white building on ur left )

Turn left into the light industrial area, take the next first right junction. The road will lead u to the end with a left curve.

U'll then see MSpeed USJ on ur left!

Go ask for Ah Meng there...England name, Kenny!

sorry, but what does the 'update software (RM200)' has? does it reprogram the stock ecu setting or what? any good in having it 'updated'?

i have updated mine but i didnt feel anything, but i guess its just like updating your PDA from window 2003 to 2005

Basically it works like our pc... it performs at optimum level when all o/s and applications just installed. After few years, the pc tends to perform relatively below optimum level compare to other newly installed pc (assume technology remains). The performance diff due to some upgrades and improvement on o/s or application done by Microsoft. So, you'll need to reformat your pc and install the newer version of o/s and applications to be at par with others.

Some data for Parts I have just changed.

Location, Penang Bayan lepas

One set of SKF main bearings for E46 back wheels.

Upon dismantling, noticed one has burnt marks and dry grease.
Milage : 95000 km

Cost : RM 120 per piece but changed 2 pcs as reckon both bearings will have about the same milage and lifespan.

Workmanship :- Rm 60
Total : 300

Now the old E46 runs very smooth, just like new, no grinding or faint beat sound.Just can hear the wind scraping the body outside the car.

Michellin V8 helps a lot too.

i see, so meant to improve ecu's brain la with new datas.

but any noticeable diff that u noticed lately gunner? cause it sounds interesting/tempting in a way..

Instantly, I found that my engine idling is more stable and at lower rpm. Engine become more responsive, but just a bit only.. fuel consumption unnoticeable.. others so far so good, quite satisfied...
