E46 Part and Service Cost II

Just want to share ,did my regular service last Saturday, 15/6/2013.

Engine oil - PETRONAS Semi Synth 10W 40 - RM86/4liter bottle x 2 (harga kawan2)
Oil filter - RM28.
Labor - RM20.

Total - RM 220.
 
Damage at Albert's place today:

Steering column/shaft replacement (parts + labor) = RM750

This is a known issue to E46s (mostly 6cylinders). Knocking sound coming from inside of column when going through uneven surfaces. Culprit can be either the column shaft or the steering couplings.

TODAY SEND THE CAR TO POWER BOOSTER REPAIR AIR COND COOLING COIL LEAK QUOTED FOR RM1500.00
TMR WILL COLLECT THE CAR..
 
Did you ask what they did with your gearbox? Does include the gearbox kit or just normal service or just draining the gearbox? If the latter, it is still shouldn't be that expensive.. Most parts are a bit over priced but i didn't see any service cost though. Perhaps they include with parts..

Next round better get their service costs separated so you'll know how they charge their service.. Then you can nego a little bit in terms of service. Coz some parts is very easy to install..

Am so sorry bro but you dah kena POTONG kau kau. Based on my estimates actual price should be around 6k

Take for exmple the Febi flywheel oil seal is just rm65 from BA

Yes bro I know that this is guy over charge me . maybe this is first and last my car entering his workshop
 
Just commenting on items that i've experienced with.

2.ATF 1L X 8-560.00(1L 70.00) - Expensive.should be around 50 per liter
4.COOLANT 1L X 3L-135.00 - should be around 30 per bottle. U need only 2 max.
6.LABOUR/DIAGNOSTIC -1500.00 - IMHO quite high
8.RADIATOR SERVICE-450.00 - service?
14.GEAR BOX SERVICE-1550.00(NO IDEA Y THEY SERVICE ) - service?
20.MICRO FILTER-115.00 - should be around 70
41.FUEL FILTER-80.00 - same as item 21, double charge

Aiyo sudah kena baru mau avoid. Did you go there and say 'do what needs to be done' and didnt ask for quotations first? This service is about 1/5 value of the car already, can change engine with what you're paying for.
