Sent my car to Albert Fang to have a look at the bump steer issue. He replaced my steering column and it has reduced the effect of the bump steer significantly. Costs RM650.00. This guy is really good and professional.

Btw, according to him, the steering rack for 330 is diffferent from the rest. is that true? any idea? cause a check with realoem seems to show the same part number for all the e46 models.

Good to know that the bump-steer is fixed/reduced significantly. I would trust realoem more, they tend to say like that to charge more? If its different and costs less then we'll be happy.

Anyway, changed the wheel speed/abs sensor at ZF auto for RM265. I think I saw somebody changed it for less (RM230) but I'm not complaining..

sir.. cost to buy lifted (power windor) only RM170. if u open YOUTUBE and type DIY E46 POWER WINDOW. I think u can replace that. i haved do that..

The cost of halfcut and labor will be more than that I think. Oso halfcut is still a used engine and need to replace wear items.
Sumore it will need to go engine no conversion. Even if rebuilding or overhaul engine is higher I will still go for it. At least peace of mind
and you will get the performance and feel of new engine. Better in long run.

Dear All, Greetings!
I'm new to this club, hope I'm welcomed by each and every one of you here.

I would like to request for favour on advise due to my E46 Lifestyle 318i having problems with its engine oil consumptions.
The engine oils warning pops up (orange) even before I hit 5,000KM and my recent consultation with a mechanic in subang jaya
gave me headspin.

It is believed the problem is due to the engine seals and they are advising me to overhaul the engine.
They cant give me an exact budget as they said, it could only be determined once the engine is opened.
The cost as they advise will be roughly MYR 7,000 for top overhaul and MYR 15,000 for a complete overhaul if it is necessary.

I was also told that the engine has been replaced,
I was not aware of this until i double confirmed it on the grant, that i believe was an act of foolish of me for not checking when i bought the car.

I hope all of you would be able to share some insights and guidance to help me...
