There seems to be 2 threads on the same issue runnuing concurrently. Shouldnt one of this thread be shut down?

see http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55

This one filtered taking all the discussion and enquiry. It suppose to have just have list price and labour cost but unfortunately ppl never follow. Just imagine having to go thru 50 pages just to get the information that you want.

So Ladies and Gentlemen.

Please try not use this thread for discussion or enquiry. You are suppose to list down the price and labour cost as easy reference for other forummers.

If you have any enquiry about the price or want to know the workshop name, pleas do it via PM (Private Message) or start a new thread.

Im also not very sure but the error code was 705 ( if im not mistaken)

Reason - The warning light indicator pop up (sometime) esp when u start the car in the morning or after long parking. Instead of P, the gearbox indicator was (!).....U still can shift to R,N n D but the car will not move..After resetting ( re-start the car then its back to normal)..sometime have to re-start a few time..

Which one....sorry guys I do not know...but after Ah Meng change the switch there's no more faulty report on my gearbox...Thank God.

The price is for brand new item.

IC, the reason I asked was becoz a fren of mine went to change his gear box switch yesterday and i saw ur post the same nite.

he is driving a CI and his mech got him a second hand gearbox switch for RM330. Havent heard from him if the car works well.

So i think RM600 is a good price if second hand is RM300+

hi members, me too face the same problem with ahjoe76... mine is e46 325..

any sifus please help...

and please indicate the service interval..

i heard some said have to change the oip every 25k km.... but some said have to change withinn 10km and how about the oil filter..

kindly guide

TQ

Many workshop claims to reset the engine oil service indicator, but has anyone checked the label or the recommendation of the oil you are currently using?

Only oil that stated BMW Longlife, LL01(for bmw production cars yr 01' and below) and LL04(for bmw production cars yr 04' and below) runs a 20k km oil service interval.

For that you have to reset the engine oil service indicator. Besides the longlife oil, for semi or other fully syn. engine oils that doesnt state BMW longlife you dont have to waste money on the engine oil resetting.

For the longlife oil you are using, replace your oil filter after 10k km.

2 pages of wear n tear stuff changed at Ultra Tune last week.
The bill? RM5130. :102:

The same day, kena one speeding ticket on the way to KLIA. And on the way back, destroyed another Smart Tag bar (again!) :banghead:

I suppose my only consolation is that the car feels exactly like the day I took it out of the showroom. :top: :thrasher:

What is your mileage when you replaced the spark plugs? E46 uses Iridium tip spark plugs as standard issue items and they don't need replacement for about 100 kilometers inbetween. And when it's time for that, it is recommended to go back for the same.

At $156.00 for complete set, that may not be iridium plugs.

I use Platinium plug and not irridium a standard BMW plug I presume. When I do my service the car is already 123km. I not sure whether the old owner did any change on the plug. But to play safe I just change it. Now my fuel consumtion are really nice already.
