E46 front lower arm-kaput

hi sifus.. i have been adviced by my mechanic that my front lower arm and the absorber is due to change. please advice me on the option and the price as well.My Ride e46 325 2001( Local)My Machanic quote me:Sachs front absorber Rm 960 Per pairmounting Rm 440Front lower arm Rm 1560Arm Bush Bracket Rm 560...Need your valuable advice on this....Thanks in advance

what is kaput on the front arm?? usually only the Front Control Arm bushing goes out and this can be bought separately and pushed in to the existing arm

Bilstein B4 front abs, about RM700 per pair
Front abs mounting, definately a lot cheaper than RM 440
Lower arm bush, about RM90 per pc

i think have to get some second opinion from other mechanic lah bro....

Today went to other workshop. the Mechanic said the arm is ok anyhow we will take out the absorber and check it.

bro Fcruz3r, how much it cost to replace the bush for this control arm.

actually its the other way round, usually kaput around 40-50k

If like that nevermind lar. The lower arm will come with the necessary ball joints to save you the hassle and you can even have an excuse to change to change the lower arm bushes to M division bushes. Yummy!

lemforder lower arm ball joints cannot be change individually, meaning u have to change the whole set of lower arm, but meyle brand can change the ball joints alone (correct me if i am wrong), so anyone changing their lower arm maybe can try meyle brand from germany as well

As far as I know, you have to change the lower arm AND lower arm ball joints together cause they sell it in a set instead of separately like E30s and E36s. Hence the less hassle part.

Yes, Uncle Jarance. The lower arm bush is Item No.7 while the whole lower arm + lower arm ball joints set is Item No. 6.
