E46 318i GB problem

Helooo to all the bimmers SIFU....my brother own a E46 318i Sedan year 2000 and there are some problem with the GB.The gear can only shift to second gear and wont automatically shift till 4th gear. First and second gear is working fine....but in order to get to 3rd and 4th gear he need to keep pressing the paddle till the GB warning light is come out and the gear will change but the car lost of power.Recently just changed the ATF and the filter as advised by one of the bimmer mach (sg petani) but the problem still persist.Any SIFU can adviseThanks....

my friend kat sabah also problem gb...325 year 2001...which better ...recond RM7000 or potong/secondhand RM5800...please bro....

Bro..pl check the GB lever switch. Mine "kaput' last month and replaced by the 2nd hand lever switch costing RM 800.So far no issue at all and trouble free.Mine is E46 318i 1999 1.9 lit. See the pic: Hope it helps and cheers.

Bro,

Since it is a serious problem, I suggest you take your ride to a specialist and get it diagnosed before changing any part. You can post up the errors detected here, and some sifu's here can advice you better.
