Hello everyone!I'm a newbie and currently not an owner of BMW.However as I lurks around this forum and to make my story short....Tak Bole Tahan! So seriously thinking about getting one next week.As the title suggest I've narrowed it down to E39 and E38.Now I'm a family man with wife,a maid, and two children age 3 and 2.As I'm going to let go of my MPV for a BMW,which of these cars gives more space for my family when we travel?Of course none of these cars can provide the same space as an MPV but I'm just head over heels with a Bimmer. The standard things that I brought along in my ride would be 02 small size strollers,01 medium size soft bag,02 small size backpack and a basket of baby items.Bear with me guys..I know it sounds silly but I think I'm starting my mid life crisis early. So plz sifus, abang abang and towkeh do advice me ya.Main point here is Space and Comfort.By the way I'm looking at 523i 1997 or 728i 1997.Thank you.ps:I've tried searching for boot size comparison on both cars but no luck.By the way the kids are not using any child seat.

welcome to BMWCM, zooq...hope that you manage to get proper advices on your purchase...

maybe you should consider the maintenance part as well...

good luck!

...bootwise E38, E39 very small.....but both cars are a dream to drive.

Seriously I thought the boot of E38 would be the largest being a huge luxury sedan.

welcome zooq.. go persuade unker vincent to sell you his pristine E38.

Actually thought of that especially after looking at the one he help to sell..missed that chance

Go for the E38 bro - no regrets......maintenance for it is not as high as you might think and the drive experience is arguably one of the best that BMW has to offer.

Oklah E38 come to Daddy!:) Actually the missus said its bulky and she don't look good driving it...all the better he he E38 all for myself..greedy greedy

i think E38 is sleek, not bulky...if you get an E38, think you just need to facelift the headlamps and get some nice rims as the car already looks good...

E39 more better...............................:top:

welcome bro.................................

Better stick to E39, maintainance lower than E38 but still a headache in the first two years of ownership due to replacements and repairs. After that should be better. Better save the money for your kids instead of spending too much at the workshop. Cheers!

---> keep the MPV as it maybe handy when the beemer is sick

e39 M5 for me ...

but there is also a spanking e34 for sale ..V8 powerrrrr

My choice would be the E38 728i. Change air suspension to normal suspension first.

Spray it jetblack, drop down the car with 19" M Parellel rims. Whack in Quad exhaust....sexy......

Then go rent Transporter 1! Jason Statham's driving style will seal the fate for you.....hahahahaha.....

Welcome zooq....sorry if I ain't good to you, but as a family man, to change from a MPV to saloon car (BMW includes) is not a good idea...:stupid: buy another car!!:top::top:

hahaha..a lot of opinion and poisoning..anyway i agree with anakin opinion..:listen:
welcome to the club bro:top:
