this project is kinda like a good exercise to the minds and knowledge and i only have alittle to impart, but with input from others, its a wealthy pool of knowledge
you can try and hangout at zoggee's place, and can do a comparison between the older and newer gearboxes
E36=220.xxx and E30=240.xxx, although there are possibility to find e30m20 320 gearboxes of the 240.xxx variation, but mostly the 240 are off the 318i e30 ones......
