A friend asks me to remove my current Getrag 220 5sp Manual GB and put in 6sp E36 M3 Manual GB.

Reason being my current setup is fun to drive but redlines at around 220kph (shown in meter cluster). I think my rear diff is 3.45 or higher, specs sticker/plate on rear diff gone.

Can masuk sekali with the 3.15 rear diff of yours?

What needs to be verified to see if these 2 GB could be directly swapped?

She's an E39.

I don't think the rear diff will fit your cars diff carrier. Better to check with your mechanic but I'm pretty certain it can't.

You could manually turn the wheels to check what your ratio is, but a bit more tedious since it's attached on your car right now.

GB should fit but you'll need to find the correct shifter components, flywheel + clutch and also long shaft.

Could you please PM me part numbers and dimension figures of the rear diff & the GB, if possible, at least my mech has some data to compare a bit?

And yes, the "3.45" was a rough figure, guessed, when we manually turn it few months back.

haiya...i didn't explain fully. i meant i have the parts for a zf conversion. but didnt' know the e36 manual was a getrag. the 6 spd, will have to be custom everything. hehehe.
