bro jarance just to share... i'm sending the motronic diagram to ur email.
when i open the ecu and noticed the tho resistor which is related to main relay control has burn ( r220 and r227).
And dont know wht else has gone...

thanks bro jarance...

thanks for the advice. ur right... even can start, but we dont know how much reliable... :)

ANYBODY SELLING E30 M40 ECU???

Opps.. I thought all the while your is an E36.. (since this is an E36 thread..) The information that I send to you are all for E36 not E30... Sorry bro if I have mislead or give out the wrong advise to you. :listen:

huh..... ayayo. no wonder even the new crank sensor give me the same resistance. hahahahaha
anyway u do advice me lot and carrying. many thanks for tht.

OK I got the email and will study the schematic. Will let you know later.

R220 and R227 are resistor in parallel configuration. I presume they are connected in parallel due to the power consumption.

from pin P5.5 (come from the CPU) , it drive a darlinton configuration. i.e. a signal to drive a switching transistor which in turn drive a power resistor to switch on the MAIN RELAY CONTROL.

check the transistor T220, T221 and T222 and zener diode D220. I suspect that T220 might be burnt or overload due to the fact the resistor is burnt because it take a high current to burnt the resistor. Problem is what value to replace the resistor if you cannot see the colour coding.

I suspect that you could have fried the ECU during your testing of the sparks when you might have accidentally jumper the wrong terminals. Please take note that most of the sensors like oxygen, air temperature (AFM) and etec are also connected to the ECU.

latest update..

today bought an ecu from chopshop and tested, bad idling and rough rev. so returned it and will get another one tomorrow...

the mechanic got the performance chipped ECU. the engine was very smooth revving. but its belong to his customer.
Nice workshop and mechanic. thanks to bro ZANK to introduce the workshop.

so, the problem now is ECU ?

Yes.. coz after exchange ECU, can start the car.. previous one was fried..

First thing is to get the car running. then get the car to run at optimum condition.

sad E30 m40...

bought another ecu and went to the wshop. tested, still the idiling and revving not good. so, the mech try to change the AFM to his spare one and VROOM... it was just nice.. so, he confirmed my AFM also not in good condition maybe cus i touch the inner circuit part :20:... now need to change the AFM also.. :(

and one funny thing.. i try to take the car for test drive, when i press the brake pedal.. its so damn hard, idiling went down and air leaking noise at the servo pump. mechanic suspect the servo pump bocor ready..

but i didnt disturb the brake system neither the mechanic. but why the hell this thing happen????? :banghead: the mech said MAYBE its cuz i press the brake w/out engine running while i move the car here and there at home and while towing. maybe...dont know :106:

anyway the the mech will confirm the fault tomorrow. if yes i need to find the e32 servo again.

Things i change due to my uncontrollable itchy hand:-

1) crank sensor
2) ECU
3) AFM
4) Battery ( fully death even recharged)
5) servo pump ( most probably, yet to know)
beside tht i pay to the tow truck from kuala selangor to Msport

Hmmm... so funny. hope the list stoped at here. hahahahahahahaha

but i learned someting... DIY must do one by one, slowly and dont be so smart....

the brake servo spoiled. looking for one (E32).

anybody wts the servo only?...

pls contact 012-2129643

mandi bunga.... hahahaha . me or my udm

honestly, it never happen to me like this before. i love to do DIY, i've solve some wiring problem in my car with guidence of Bently Manual Book. Dont know wht happen this time... i reserved the cash for the painting job. but it seems need to wait somemore longer.

both.. just to be on the safe side..

Do let us know when you get the UDM out of the workshop.. I know how it feel when you missed your baby..

brake..:

the mech has fixed the e30 stock servo due to difficulties to find a good used e32 servo. He got no space to park my car until he tumpang park at his friend space. so, just let him to fix the stock e30 servo which he got one.

i've run up and down but couldnt find good condition e32 servo. few unit were internel rusted and rejected by the mech. tomorrow wil go and test the braking... hope all ok.

one thing i really not satisfied and dont understand. how come the brake servo suddently die?? any idea or possibilities

received a call from my old friend just now. he said got the e32 servo. if anybody want the servo, will let go even with master.

hi bro jarance and all..

took back the car today from workshop. :driver:

the car runs smooth then before. was encountering shuttering at certain RPM. now no more. didnt test at high speed yet.

brake:- with stock e30 servo and master, it feels how it should be. no issues. but miss the "power" of 7 series stopping power. :2: will fix back the e32 servo in future but not so fast...

Good+reliable= Msport. my 2cents....

Nismo, glad to hear that your ride is running again.

So what was the damaged in term of cost?

1. One ECU
2. One AFM
3. One servo pump
4. crank sensor (can be resold)
5. other
