Well done.

Now you know why I suggest that you change mechanic instead of the compressor.

boss.. change belt and aircon tensioner. I think la.....

if ambitious go to Naidu and install his lifetime warrenty custom made spring aircon tensioner.

The custom tensioner available at Naidu is actually a fixed pulley system. I don't think this is good because everytime the AC compressor "kicks-in" the fixed pulley system has no lax and therefore can put great strain on your compressor unit resulting in early failure of your AC compressor. I think a better system is to customise it with springs just like our coil over spring and absorber.

What's your opinion guys?

Had one of those fixed pulley type tensioners fixed by the previous own of my ride. The tensioning always needed to be adjusted all the time I ended up replacing it with original tensioner. I agree with Vincent. The tensioner is designed to absorb some tension shock on the pulley.

Btw, how much is a new tensioner?

I paid more than RM200 for an original BMW part. Can't remember exactly the price.

RM200 ++ for the original part? Aiyo, might as well get a new one than get the fixed pulley type.

Thanks for te reply.

I have replaced the A/C tensioner on my E34 M50 previously. I found that the absorber is usually still good but it's the fibre bushes and the aluminium bushes that has worn.

If anyone knows if these bushes are available for sale then the replacement cost could be very very much cheaper.

Hi guys, My car did not have this noise that has been mentioned... but then itchy, went and changed the belts and the bearing, now I have the grinding noise.... could the tensioner cause this, cause it's the only part i did not change in the assembly, apart from the compressor itself. Or could it be bad inntallation? Any comments?

rubes, check the belt tension. Loose belt can also cause the squeaking sound.

will try that, noise begining to bother me, sounds like some loose parts in the engine, and very embarrasing to drive with
