I used to wash my ride like 4 times a week but now am i wash the ride once a week :D In between i just use ONR, spray and wipe hehehe .... Thanks to bro KC and Seech for introducing me to ONR very easy to use and very effective :D
My favorite wax so far is been SONAX hard wax extreme .. cheap and last at least 2 month for everyday use :D

Woi B33MER bro, still using SONAX? Haha. Awesome man. Never seen you for ages. Almost neighbours but jarang see your 330i wan!! Hahaha. Always seen some modded E46s with super kilat rims roaming around Subang. :D

Haha, you're also using ONR ah? My ONR almost habis wei.. Boleh pinjam ka? :D

wow

this is amazing after reading thru all your post ...wow u guys have more energy than anyone else in the world

truly a forum fit for thr ultimates only.....

As i always quote " a weekly wash & a monthly wax....will keep your car..looking good all the way"

just like the good old saying goes...an apple for a day willl keep the doc away....!!!!!!

nothing is better than the consistency......I think i have preach to the car owners on all my detailing task, much more than any hard disk camera can record...asked those who have close encounters with me....prevention is better than cure...not all cars need to be corrected..if they are taken real good care...from day 1

and same time i have met a numbers of new BMW owners...who regularly patronised road side wash....... its not the shampoo who damaged your paint...but the way they handle....the techniques....material used...cloths used...

FAB or GLO??? ehhhh...i also used them last time...long long time ago

a new UDM owner tells me....his few wks old wash a couple road side alredi...i nearly fainted...thats a quater million ride u r talking about.....

to me washing is good....but better would be able to spend more time with my Kids & wife... it is an investment & a good relationship only builds up with quality time....the world has more distraction to take our children away....a balance life is a fulfilled life...everythingis good but not everything is beneficial

BTW

ONR contains contains proprietary ....substantive polymers which bond to the paint and protect it during the wash.... a protective polymer film and will not remove any wax and sealants that have..unlike conventional shampoo....

Bro, where do you get your SONAX? Mana mana pun ada?

Thank you so much for your input. Now I realised another thing, those who read the forum and had better understanding of car wash and detailing, they DO WASH THEIR OWN UDMs

Cheers to ALL!

My take on washing and waxing is this.

Wax is not meant to last forever. In fact, the wax is there to act as a protective sacrificial layer on top of your paint to protect it against the weather. There are also sealants such as Opti-Seal that also perform a similar function to protecting the paint.

Does the type of wax matter? To some extent it does but as rightfully pointed out, the surface preparation is what makes a car look great. To me the wax does not 'enhance' the look of the car if the surface is properly prepped. In fact there have been some test which actually show that applying wax reduces the gloss as measured with a gloss meter.

There are also many claims as to how long each wax lasts. While some may last longer than others, I find that the most important thing is maintenance.

Washing and waxing regularly is the key especially if your car is parked outside. The Malaysian weather is pretty hard on the paint due to the frequent rainfall and hot direct sun. Whatever contaminants which are on the paint surface tends to get baked onto the surface which makes it very difficult to remove.

I find that a weekly wash and wax works best for me as the paint is constantly cleaned and protected from the environment. This would be difficult to carry out using a conventional wash and wax but with ONR and OCW I can get my car washed and waxed in around 15 mins.

Thanks for the lowdown Seech. Looking forward to seeing you and KC this coming Saturday then. :D

Yeap I agree, no one can take better care than ourselves.. But doing self detailing at times could be tedious :p

Last week alone I had washed 3 times.. cant believe it, a lazy man like me will do detailing works :). And yesterday I washed (ONR), hand-polished (Poli-Seal), apply sealant (Opti-Seal), then waxed (Opti-Car Wax).. All OPTIMUM products. As for interior, I used Turtle Ice.. And now she looks so COOL
