Hi guys,Hope you could help me out. Its my first time having to look overseas for parts for my E21. managed to track down a seller who has exactly what i want. sale just concluded and now i am wondering what about the malaysian customs clearance procedures? anyone with experience can help with some input?total sales of goods and shipping is less than 500 ringgit. but got quite a few items. mostly all interior stuff like ac vents and guages etc. seller is in UK and will be posting it with Royal Mail.1. would this be taxed?2. Do i have to go to klia to pick it up?There was a thread on this i searched but it was last updated in 2008 so i dont know if the rules have changed since then...THanks!!

i bought off ebay 3 times to date and one was from the UK also using royal mail.i bought a used instrument cluster for about rm 400 total as stated and agreed prior payment.the package was delivered to my house without any additional cost via poslaju.poslaju is the default logistics vendor for malaysia.

get the tracking number information from the seller for you to check with poslaju on the item status.

I've bought a lot of stuff from Ebay without any problems from Customs. Except once when I got a Nav System that cost 6k. The custom will send you a note asking you to come to the Post office near LCCT and claim the item. Ended up have to pay RM300 as tax to get them to release to me.

Other than that, everything else have been delivered to me without problems. Price ranging from RM5 to RM1000. In your case I think should not be a problem.

hi guys,

Thanks for the replies! tried searching up on this on the kastam website but the info there seems pretty vague. i have the tracking number and will check with poslaju in a few days...

Thanks again for the advice!

Bro, try PM fariz.hashim, he has much experience in being taxed by Kastam for bringing in stuffs from overseas purchased via ebay.com.

I don't believe you'd get taxed for RM500 goods. Taxable items start around RM700 IIRC, 40% plus 10% of grand total.

Not that straight forward, I brought in numerous electronics goods and most of the time the item would stuck at custom, tax ranges from 25 up to 35%

If your item classified as electronic then u might want to request the seller to declare a low price, most of the time expensive items always got stuck sigh
