I would like to share what I learnt today from Ingress,my car at mileage 18.5kkm I drive indicated service dued, but I was told all N20 engines delivered prior to March 2013 will only be entitled to free oil and filter change at 30K km/2 years, hence in 3 years BSRI/60Kkm coverage I will only be entitled 2 free service, whereas post March 2013 cars will enjoy every 12K free service which comes to 5 free services...I cannot comprehend the logic of this disparity...felt like being mislead...

I thought it was conditioned based service so if the warning comes up then it should be due for service. The explanation given by ingress doesn't make any sense.

I call it Bull Shit Repair Inclusive.
Been told the same here in Penang except about the post March 2013 cars.
Your current mileage + the 'service due in xxxxxkm' then only is your service time.

I wrote to BMW Malaysia and was informed the Bsri was not dependent on mileage instead it depended on the so called intelligent sensors which most by the way kaputs within months of ownership like engine power sensor(replaced after 2 months)and coolant sensors when it indicates your engine about to burst when in actual fact the coolant level is full...now when the actual I Drive itself says its due,it's back to fixed at 30K mileage, even printed a copy from my vin code...all this to cheat customers of one free service?those who wants to buy extended BSRI at a premium price....my advice is DONT!!They will come out with crap excuses to deny your claims if they can...a global brand resorting to such cheap tactics is really shameful..which car in Malaysia can withstand 30K mileage without causing damage to its engine?Simply madness

Actually we have to take extra care of our own UDM, we cant depend on the so called BSRI. My friend's F10 is now 87k km and have done only 3 times services.

You dont want oil sludge you pay for service and maintenance. You stick with BSRI you get oil sludge.

My 328i now 18k km and done first service at 2k km and second service at 10k km and third service at 17k km, all at my own cost.

Siu Loong. The argument is here is why the discrepancy.

My f30 indicates service at every 12 000 km. I'm planning to do my 6000 service.

But in the 60 000 km of ownership. I get 5 free services. Compared to your 2.

At the point of purchase last year, we were told BSRI every 20k. Earlier this year i was told not every 20k, but instead refer to service indicator, if its not due, it's not required. Now ignore indicator, only need to service every 30k?!

This is really unbecoming of a reputable company. Perhaps our CMs can take this matter up with BMW management during their next engagement session.

For avoidance of doubt, it's not about when to do oil change - i've paid for it. Its what appears to be misrepresentation and deceptive conduct.

F30 has quality issues.. and now this kind of treatment?.. wah, so much JOY!!

_M_ called and instructed me to reply you "Ta Mau" CRaZy" He is still having JOY :D

I heard _M_ ady Change to H&R Springs :top:

Before we purchased our UDM we already knew and expected all sort of rubbishes/discrepancies regards to the BSRI, quality, reliability etc. BSRI is only a marketing tactic.

BMW only gives 2 years warranty, problematic cars, useless BSRI but many people will still buy BMW. I see no reasons why BMW would ever change. We have to live with these during our ownership of our UDM.

We made what BMW malaysia is today.

Their profit margins are about the highest yet they are so stingy in servicing your car.

I think they shld do away ofthis rubbish BSRI and extend warranty to 5 years. Then we can all service our cars every 10 k km as in rhe good old days.

The 'service due in xxx KM' message is very misleading. I was told my by SA that it indicates the mileage that your car needs to reach before the service is due. By right, it should count down. However, mine never seems to drop even by 1 KM. According to SA again, if the countdown reaches 0 KM, the service message will appear on the screen. (not exactly 0 KM, but when its near, message will appear). Its all SA's talk. Haven't got the chance to experience it. Maybe anyone here can confirm?

Yes it should count down to the service due date. But I don't rely on that. I prefer to track my service based on the odometer.

BMW increased F30 price at the turn of the year. Hence cars delivered posts March 13 has factored in these services cost. Meaning, you pay less but not (many) free services or pay more for extra services.

This comes from my SA.

whatever your car's computer says, dump the oil every 8,000kms. there's just too many E90's with wrecked engines simply becoz the owners followed the recommended service intervals.
