Today I had the chance to test a BMW Premium Selection BMW 323i at Glenmarie. The best part of this car is the I-drive system. My bb can easily hook up with the I-Drive via bluetooth and I can browse the internet if the car is stationary. It can also play my songs in my BB via bluetooth which I think is great. The voice command is excellent too.The Nav is a bit fiddly and not as great as those in Garmin or Papago but it does the job okay. The power and acceleration is awesome.BMW PS also gives out an extra 1 year warranty plus the 5 years BSRI. Good value IMHO.The only downside is that the noise level is too high. Well..yes coming from the E39 maybe the E39 has more insulation. It is already 10 years old ...but I am a bit surprised for the E90..Is this engine noise intrusion prevalent in all E90s? I haven't tested the 320i.But nonetheless quite tempted.Opinions and comments welcomed.Cheers.

This guy changes his car like you would change teeth brushes la...dont need a reason one...

i thought your intention of letting go the 525i is more for power?

323i is also 6cyl 2.5liter but I think it is using a newer engine. So quite powerful as it is mated to a lighter and smaller chassis.

Nothing is being decided just look look see see ..
touching touching liking liking... poking poking like that Aliff Aziz new song he3x..

hi Zib, it should be the RFT sounds, else the 323i cabin would be very quiet..

Bro, extra 1 yr warranty? Wht year manufactured and how many km's on the clock? Sounds like a good deal you got there.

11,000kms year 2011 Oct.

But AB PS is pricier than outside used car dealers price.

Even at low speeds? If I am not mistaken it was the engine noise intrusion. As it changed as I revved the engine.

Anyway thanks for the info.

Inline 6 sounds good what...I don't mind engine noise, only wind & road noise that bothers me alot...hehe

The 323i is the "cut cost, cut corners" version of the 325i while my 320i is the base line model of the entire range of BMW fleet. So it's unfair to compare them to the high production cost and price tag siblings. However, my base line BMW is still quieter than Polo and the 323i still quieter than Golf.. :4:

I've got a 2010 323i. Before that was a E60. The E90 is definitely not as quiet as the E60. But is still reasonably quiet and refined.

It's also reasonable peppy on Sport mode, but don't expect to chase after GTIs (or even modded protons).

Fuel consumption isn't all that great around town, but reasonable on highways.

Was relatively problem free over the last 2.5 years and 70k km, only suffered from suspension noises and a passenger side window which had a mind of its own. Was solved under warranty.

The lack of the M Sport suspension is probably the only thing I missed on this car. The M Sport cars do handle better and feels alot sportier.

Back then, if my budget could stretch somemore, I would have gone for the 325i M Sport.

The M Sport suspension allows better handling on spirited drive but commuting around town and housing area, the 323i will be much desirable as a day-to-day commuting vehicle, just like my 320i base line model.. :4:

Change to non RFT ... its heck of a lot better but then lose a bit in handling. Got rid of my RFT and its nice now.

The RFT are really bad on comfort and wears down incredible fast... Only lasted about 18k km. Was glad to get rid of them.... until I had a flat... hmmm.....

Running on non-RFT on my 19' plus M-sport suspension doesn't help either...urs if not mistaken is normal suspension not M-sport rite?
