Let me put it this way bro. Getting a BMW is like marriage.

You get the gal you want, to be your wife (this case, its the UDM. gives you lustful pleasure and juggling act to maintain). Then along with it, packaged together is the father-in-law (the cool factor that tops everything else when owning a UDM), the mother-in-law (the heartache when the car breaks down and the constant niggling issues you'd be faced with), the brother-in-law (the company of people that suddenly becomes an expert trying to racun you to mod) and finally the sister-in-law (the thought of damn-i-should-have-opted-for-the-higher-spec kinda regret that would always be there, as you have to admit, you'll never be satisfied with what you have).

Bottom line : enjoy your ride.

When shopping for E90, try driving the car over uneven road and listen to the door seal popping/cracking noise. That's the most irritating problem for E90.[/QUOTE]

Yeah agree with this. How to DIY resolve this ?

Regards.

My interim solutions: lubricate your door seal with silicon or BMW gummyflege

I apply a good car wax on the paint between the seal and the roof channel, then buff off after dry.

Been doing this for years on my E60. Did the same on my E90 yesterday, now quite.

Once a month, not too troublesome. Also the wax protects the paintwork..

This can be fixed easily.... BMW have the 3M tape which is very effective - one off treatment for all doors.

I'm a very patience person and can tolerate the rest, including the maintenance nightmare, no spare tyres, costly repairs, leaky machinery that can catch fire anytime, etc.. but this cracking noise really gets into my nerves..

Astroboy, I have come across 3 solutions for cracking noises: All DIY

1) Taclum Powder
2) Gummi Pledge Rubber Spray
3) 3M Friction Tape

All to be applied on the Top Hard Rubber Part of the door frame. Cheers !
