Would the smell come back let say after few months?

In my experience it does come back maybe every 2 weeks or so but it's never as bad and it's never lasts more than a few minutes. In the beginning it was every day.

No lah doc..didnt hurt our feelings..just one of those end of life cycle facts of life we have to accept. I'll ask at Quill when I go there this Saturday for their CNY celebrations, also catching up with their director for a drink after that too-so will ask him also. My colour si Alpine White with black interior. They say white is the new black, and the E90 looks fabulously sporty and sexy in white. Its actually, in my opinion, a hundred times easier to maintain than black-which was my previous car's colour.

If I'm not mistaken the Alpine White is solid color right? Is it really that easy to maintain?

I have a white car, I have a black car. The white car is more difficult to maintain.

Witeither black or white, you have to wash them almost daily. With black, you start to get very obvious fine swirl scratches very fast with the frequent washing. I don't find that problem with white.

I hv an alpine white 320d and had a black audi. The black easily get swirl marks while the white attracts road tar, spots and brake dust like a magnet. I use meguairs quick wax after every weekly wash. Helps maintain a smoother surface for easy washing and wipes. Betwen the 2 colours, I hv to say black is harder to maintain.

Given a choice, my next car will be neither colour.

its reverse for me. Have owned 2 blacks, 2 white, the blacks were alot harder to take care of. Swirl marks, hairline scratches, carpark dings all show up very clearly on black cars, while on the white its more forgiving.

both need to be cleaned regularly to look good, but whites age better as the car collects "battle scars"

will not buy black cars anymore....but will still get white.

true....the 320d is for good economy and nice for daily drive. different animal than a sti/evo. 320d has nice thump to get going....but falls flat rather fast.

To add on the STi is only 280k....

The 320d Powerkit will satisfy all your cravings for more power and torque.....any of you all installed it already? Takes only 2 hours. 2 hours to a bigger smile on your face. :-D!

Even in standard form it already has good power. Smoked a 4dr Type-R recently :)

Wow! U did that bro? Where and how? Spill the juice, bro!

On one of the uphill roads on the NKVE. The shriek of that Honda's engine was amazing. I think the 320d has the advantage on sloped roads :)

Good news guys! My 177hp 320d can go for upgrade! Quill checked my VIN number with Germany and the engineers there said no problem! Now got to find the time to send the car in! Hopefully can squeeze 2 hours out of my work schedule soon!

Wow! it'll be a big boost to get to 200bhp and the 420 Nm's bro.
so i'm still confused, is it 4-5k or 8k? is anyone going to release the official package? seems only quill is doing this upgrade.

Definitely not 4-5K, its 7-8K but we are working on that discount for BMWCM OMs. Hoepfully 10% discount for OMs-so sign up guys! All OMs registered before end of July qualifies!

thx doc for your super initiative. very happy for all the 177hp guys. what a big difference it will be!

different topic altogether, to talk about wheels - i'm still running on stock potenza runflats. dropped the pressure to 30psi front, 34 psi rears for the last 2 months to try out, and it actually gave a very comfortable ride. softer, and less harsh on the tush. handling became a little squishy, but not too bad a compromise for a much gentler ride. did it on purpose for a family trip outstation.
this evening, i increased it back to 32/38 and it's back to a more feedback from the roads. after going softer for a while, it's actually quite nice getting back to riding on rails again - the msport suspension is a real big joy generator for me, i love it. rolling resistance feels less too.

would love to hear any other thoughts/feedback on tire pressures. fyi, the 17" recommended pressures on the side of the car is 230/280 kPas (33/40 psi) for a max load of 4 adults, in case anyone was wondering.

now negotiating with my "Finance Minister" to approve the extra budget for the upgrade...

I had mine pre-approved with a prada handbag. So, I m really hoping there is a special rate for the powerkit to lessen the blow.

hey all... thinking of getting a BMW 320d (either current one or wait for the new model to be released). But wanna check, any issue with the engine with our Euro2 fuel? Any issues with the engine at all?

My E90 325i had a oil sludge problem and by 60k km have to do top overhaul. Luckily covered by warranty!!

thanks!
