I wanted to share my bad experience with you guys here about Sapura Auto after sales services. After reading and checking with Sapura Auto, the Service Advisor suggested the DTC/DSC need to be reprogram because of the BMW Performance Brake kit upgrade. So made the appointment to do it on the 29/3/10. Went there early-early morning for them to work on my car.... The SA told me that during the reprogram of software, any mishaps happen to the ABS pump and sensors Sapura Auto will not be responsible and there for will be treated under warranty void ! (this is just great) I ask him why, since the brake kit is from BMW?? He replied, because the brake kit is not purchase and not install by Sapura Auto. :eek:So he ask me if I wanted to proceed with the reprogram thingy or not?? What the heck... do it lor ! Asked him how long it would take, he says whole day ! Damn... whole day to play around with the software !:stupid: O.K, nevermind... since they are doing the program thingy I ask them to do 2 more things for me.1. To set A/Cond Internal Circulation Mode Default "ON"2. Warning Trigger When 1h Seat Belt Not FastenSo I left Sapura and back to collect my car at 3pm in the afternoon... It was 4pm and told me the car was done and washed too ! Happy lor.....Then was showed the bill for RM189.00 for the DTC/DCS thingy. O.K, pay also... Even though some guys here who got lucky not being charge for the job by others dealers. When I reached home, I realize item 1 & 2 was not done ! It's still the same old same old.... #%&*%@#$% Is this the kind of workmanship the BEST Sapura Auto can offer??? Now, I'm worried if the buggers did the DTC/DSC thingy for me or not ! ! Having to pay for the programming but work was not done....And now have to visit Sapura Auto again to screw the bugger SA ! !

You're not the only one.
I sent two cars in, one after the other on consecutive days.

First car needed some fluids changed as the check lights were on and an engine service, it was over 10k km since the last service and I prefer to do 10k services.

Second car also needed some fluids changed as the check lights were on also, but that was it. It was at 8k km since last service, and was planning to do so in maybe 2 months time.

Sapura went and serviced the wrong car, even after the specific instructions I left the SA. So now, the car that needed service immediately still hasn't had an oil change, and the one that didn't need it immediately had one and I got charged over a grand for that. I did go back with the intention of telling them off, but after seeing how overworked and/or blur the SA was I just explained what happened and left.

I also have to tell you that one time, some Sapura mechanic wasn't paying attention and there was a collision involving my car and another car. They called me and made good the slight damage, but seriously come on, these guys are meant to be on most direct representatives of the BMW brand, they're meant to be articulate and professional, and they're meant to get the job done, which is why we're all paying so damn much for this kind of work. If not for trying to maintain a perfect FBMWSH I'd be sending the cars to workshops without fancy key-readers, Illy coffee, overpriced merchandise, way-to-white walls and floors, elevator muzak and elevated bills. Workshops where the guys there know their stuff through good old experience and solid know-how. Haha I kid, those don't exist in this country.

But seriously, Sapura are never touching my cars again.

Confirms my experience also.

AB, out. Sapura, out. So now its Ingress

I think to be fair to both these authorised dealers, it's best these complaints to brought up to their higher management. It's pretty strange because from the news that has been traveling out there, INGRESS has been picking up a lot of customers who have had unpleasant experiences with AB & SA. I'm quite surprised they are not doing anything about it especially when it concerns forumers/official members of BMWCM, their brand ambassador.

Bring it up with their higher management and I think you'll be treated like a VIP the next time you go there. At least make sure they have completed the tasks that you were charged for. This concerns safety issues and is no laughing matter.

Actually, how does one confirm that a certain software update have been installed.
It not window XP where you can see that SP3 have been installed.

Aiyo.. if not happy, try some other place.. As mentioned by some, Service centre overloaded and have understaff.

Sunny, we can set the seat belt alarm timer meh? and the aircond internal circulation to "ON" by default meh? Didn't know such parameter exist in the OBC..

Other than that, you shouldn't have anything to complaint la. Did they wash your car? If yes, then u should say thank you.

But again, if the above parameter can't be set, they should inform you the moment you raise the "instruction".

DD, I have been more than fair to them as much as I have been unfair to myself.

Trust me I have spoken to their Service Manager (3 persons), General Manager (2 persons) and CEO (2 persons), even to the Sime Darby Group Chairman and Sapura Deputy CEO, on ways to improve their after sales service of both AB and Sapura. In the case of AB, this was over a 13 year period. Heck I have even spoken to Wolfgang, when he was here. I am fortunate enough to have access to these people. And I still buy BM. Did I miss anyone? Maybe the prime Minister of Malaysia is next. Dont you think I have been fair enough.

No I do not ask to be and is not treated like a VIP after speaking to them.

Tuan Haji Saat,
If that's the case, i only have 3 words to say. GO TO INGRESS!!!! Hahahaha....jeez. I really wonder what these people are doing. Fighting for the dealership and making a mockery out of it. BMW Malaysia should really look into these cases before all the loyal customers switch to Merc or Audi.

P.S. Am not Haji yet. Dato' coming soon, maybe.

Seriously, how can u verify if the recode is done or not? and the 2 request u mentioned in the aircond and seat belt alarm. Are they even possible?

The other fella who got his recode free if I not mistaken he did a lot more things to his car because not only the banana, but also the KW V2. Ingress set his ride height to balance the front and rear before doing a complete 4 wheel alignment job to his E90. The alignment job cost around RM300. That's why the recode was thrown in as compliment if I not wrong.

Anyway, chill out and I'll be checking on your updates.

Cheers!

haiyo, why am i reading so many horror stories about bmw SC?.....so far AB and SA no. IA ok?......what about QA?....ok ka?

When they called me about the incident where my car was hit by another car driven by a Sapura mechanic, in Sapura itself, I asked to talk to the manager, and he did come to see me. He apologised and promised to rectify the damage, which wasn't much, but really, the damage had already been done. No future VIP treatment, nothing else. Not that I care about that really, but essentially they got away with little more than a sorry and a quick touch-up. I didn't press the issue, I figured the convenience of a city-based service centre outweighed the hassle of complaining any higher.

Now they messed up again, and they have lost my business for good. Ingress gains from this, they're close enough to not be that huge a hassle to reach, and the Quill boss has promised good service when his centre opens. It's sad to see all these once-decent service centres failing to live up to their initial quality. I suspect eventually Ingress and Quill will succumb to the sheer volume of all our troublesome BMWs, which by then I hope for four things:

1) Mercedes starts making super reliable, super sexay and super handling driver's cars. Hah.
2) Nanobots become the norm and our cars can self-diagnose and self-repair.
3) Horses come back in fashion as the trendy way to get around town. Lash two together to double the HP, and insert some steroids as a shove-in turbo and you're all good to go.
4) Humans evolve to self-teleport.

wah after reading all those stories, now I began to wonder the 3 days that I left my car at Sapura Auto to check the rattling sound on the dash board. Took back the car after going thru the terrible jam on at 640pm at Jln Tun Razak and the rattling sound is still there. Ask them to check my USB connection whether okay but was not inform anything about it when I collect the car. They just give me car car FOB and I drove off. Back to Square 1 on my car problem
