mine is 13.8/1000 for my 320 SE. looks high huh. Travel routes is from ampang to Jln Tun Razak daily using MRR.

I'm doing about 13.1/100kms....Most times on DS or manual....Have developed a problem with my right foot since getting past the break in period :vroam:

So its quite a relief to see the consumption figures are all round about the same

You're rite bro rims..
looks like we're all there or there abouts..
maybe i shld leave it in DS mode more often to!!! :driver:

My E90 320i is averaging 11.9L/100km. My trips are half town driving and half highways, usually more than the speed limit :p

im averaging about the same on a weekly basis of 500kms on my 320i. Town driving seems to lower the consumption.....

Actually if im not mistaken, the HIGHER the reading the better. The reading on the multi function lever is not litres per 100kms but kilometres per litre of fuel.

So If youre getting say 12.5 km/l then it means that for every 100kms you are using 8litres of fuel (100/12.5) x RM 1.92 per litre = RM 15.36 for every 100kms.

If you are heavy on the pedal and get a reading of say 11 km/l then it means that for every 100kms you are using 9 litres of fuel (100/11) x 1.92 per litre = RM 17.28 for every 100kms.

.

Actually, you can change FC measurement from KM/L, L/100KM and some other readings in gallons as well.

Thats rite bro rookie...
We can decide which reading we prefer and change the setting ourselves..

Km/L - Higher is better
L/100km - Lower is better

Quite right chaps, Ive been doing the reading in km/l format and then calculating the l/100kms. Talk about old fashioned hah !

Always thought it could only be changed to mpg.... i stand corrected.

My reading is 8.4 l/100kms

Shucks! For my detuned 2.5L, 13.4 seems high then. How you jokers drive your 325is? Must tekan every now and then lah.

JPB,

Maybe kena cucuk a little more than normal 325, that's why u tekan more ;)

I'm getting 11.6/100 kms, and doing 500+ km per week. Daily travel includes NKVE from Shah Alam to KL, so this helps bring it down a bit. I thought I had a heavy right foot as well, but not too bad compared to some of you jokers :burnout:

I think there is some merit to your thoughts Rims..
Maybe you should upgrade your rims n tyres now..
The fuel money you cld save can help pay for them meh :65:

Hey guys.... mine is recording 15.3L/100kms and it's with a new engine with less than 300kms mileage on it. Not sure if this is right or should I let it run more to reconfirm the figure again. Previously mine was 15.8L/100kms. U guys are consider very good as compared to mine.

Power wise.... wah lau..... so much better now with the new engine. I am now always driving around trying to look for the debadged "koopay" with single digit, so that I can "cucuk" him :) hehehe....

Yup DY, Run in the engine and then you will get a more accurate reading. Aiyo, give chance to the single digit koopay lah or are u trying to racun him to upgrd to 335

A lot of the FC figures depends on the commute. The funny thing about the engine is that when its cruising on 80+ km/h its a real sipper on fuel but on stop start traffic and shoter trips, it guzzles (my observation). Unlike smaller capacity engine Jap cars (e.g. my wife's Jazz), the difference of the 2 profiles do not impact the FC readings as badly.

However, since I had an E46 325i for 5+ years before, its safe to say that the E90 325i drinks a bit more fuel.... for shorter urban commutes.

Yeah lah. Pick on someone your own bhp. On a serious note, I noticed my FC improving quite a bit as I piled on the miles. I think mileage is a key consideration.

Since our posting, I've made some observations... I remember speaking to Bimmer910 on this, and it was consistent as well.

A few observations:

1) The more briskly you drive the FC actually improves.

2) I noticed that on the OBC my average speed is very low (28km/h) due to the crawls I face daily. My collegue's Merc 2.5 V6 registers 11ltr/100kms which is amazing with 17's and 245 tyres on the rears, but his average speed on the OBC is 45km/h.

3) When I switch to step (manual) mode, and upshift a little later (~2.5-3k rpm), the FC improves dramatically. In normal auto mode, my tranny is in lazy mode and upshifts below 2k rpm, which sees the fuel economy needle swing up to lug the car forward under low rpms. With the same accelerator pedal pressure, and more effective use of gearing (manual shifting), its dramatically improves the FC. However, the ride is abit more jerky heh.

Anyway, these are just some of my observations. I'd be interested to know what everyone's average speed is on the OBC with the FC figures.
