Hi all. I'm Andre and I'm new here. Just as the title says, I'm intending to get a used E90 and I'm kinda torn between the 320d and the 325i. Both will be LCI if I get it. I've done quite a bit of research regarding both engines in terms of their performance and common problems. To be quite honest, I am not particular about the engines and I do like 'em both. The fuel consumption and torque is a bonus for me on the 320d but the engine note and high revs of the inline-6 is a good trade of.

My question is at reliability. Basically which of them will spend lesser days and money in terms of repairing (I'm not comparing with Japanese cars of course). I do understand they are 11 years and older cars and and I'm ready for those wear and tear repair once I get it.

Since is 2022, another year add up to these cars, hopefully you sifus who has own these cars would be able to share some real world experience here. Thanks in advance!

I personally would choose the inline 6 due to its smooth and sweet sound it makes when you rev up the engine. Engine itself is also quite reliable provided it was promptly serviced with approved BMW LL01 / LL04 oil.

Noted on the engine oil. Will do a some research and learn about them. Are there any differences between the 2010 and 2011 325i besides their manufacturing year? I would assume they are the same since is the last 2 years of the of that generation.

Don't think there is any notable difference as they all share the same engine code (N52K). Most importantly is that it was well maintained by the owner.

You can't go wrong with the E90 320d . It's robust , cheaper to run and the torque is poisonous .A perfect workhorse. I've enjoyed every moment in it in the past 11years . Absolute bliss :)

I might be selling my mint condition E90 LCI 325i M Sport. Feel free to PM me if anyone want to explore. I've not posted it anywhere yet as its still prelim and under careful consideration. Thinking of getting the G20 330i M Sport as an upgrade.
