Chinlai , ur question isnt dumb...Jipster has a set of bottelcaps so he used that...in fact the rims that he refurbished doesnt have rubbers yet....Now
only thinking of getting tyres....

Kev took sum pics recently during the E30 meet...mabbe he'll put them up soon when he's npt too busy...

No sunny dun do the work themselvces....the kind of work involved is pretty specialised e.g. skimming, polishing, grinding, sparaying....well I guess anyone can do it but not many will be able to do it well.....lets just say Im satisfied with the work

i went to the one at segambut but they have tonnes of rims to refurbish and they said to wait for them to call when they are free

so was wonderin to check out the job on yr rims done by sunny

Hi all,

I have sent one of my 15" rim for "repair" for 3 times, due to the air leaking /coming out from the side wall between the tyre and rim. Still have not solve my problems.

If I left my car not used, the leaking is not so fast but I used my car everyday, then usually the leaking will be 1-2 days.

Air pressure is 220, so after 1-2 days, will drop till 130-165, check with few tyre shop and confirmed is coming out from the side.

Any good one that can repair my rim ?

3 times send for repair...how much oredi?....mabbee need to buy new rims or 2nd hand rims better solution.....leaking rims an unacceptable siatution...usability of car becomes suspect....one day u will forget to check and then ....how?

I dunno if this kind of porblem is fix-able....try to send to the segambut place lah as they seem to be old hands at this....otherwise, like I said, mabbe need to consider getting another set or just replace one wheel...good luck dude

Rims for E30 is a bit to get especially for those budget & 2nd hand ones.

AGreed....2nd hand is the way to go....but becoz of 2nd hand need to beware....some thots:

If u dun mind jrd's, BSAs and the like there's prolly sum that fit (new even) but may need hubcnetric thingies to make it fit and even then needs off AND on wheel balancing to make it work correctly...otherwise vibration city! So not ideal particularly if u in a habit of trashing yr car as it prolly wont be safe.....but cheap no doubt....

Better would be to hunt down makes that are associated with UDM's in general....e.g. BBS, ronal, zneder etc.....but these are thin on the ground....price may not be cheap as well due to rarity ....if u lucky u buy from sumone who is unaware of its value....sumtimes they can also be cheap but may be false economy coz need moolah to fix/do up....

Another option - replicas....again not cheap but cheaper than the real thing....sum are well made...sum are not....

Sources....ususal suspects....any rim/tire shop.....who knows? u might get lucky....chop shops - there are sum that specialise in rims or have big rim collection, check out motor trader....put a want ad on this forum.....pray real hard - that wd prolly help

PS - Kevster may still have old set to sell about RM2K+ i think....Loneranger may have sum to sell but his may be even more expensive but high quality, he's a nice guy try and nego-lah....

Thot I saw Sunny Car Care being mentioned here. Has anyone experienced their rims repair? How good? Is pricing OK? Segambut a bit too far 4 me lah and judging from how busy they're, I doubt I can get immediate attention. Is there anywhere in PeeJay I should check out?

sunny....may not be best in terms of price but workmanship is very reasonable to my mind (Jules can also comment here since he saw end product)....figure around 50-100++ per rim depending on what needs to be done. As for comparison with the segambut place....yeah, its kinda inconvenient and they couldnt layan me the day i went coz sprayer AWOL - that ususally screws it up for me.......its your money dude!
