Sad to say this newbie (joined BMWCM in just a few weeks) apparently turned out to be a No.1 C**K talker and time waster.I've never encountered any issues with buyers or sellers in this forum, character or attitude wise except for this peculiar one...who just had to spoil the record! DAMN!WHY?Simple.... (this is where it gets interesting....)I had my wheels on sale in the classifieds on the 31st of May 2012 . The very next day (1st May) i had a PM of this guy saying he wants to see the pics and if it's okay he will collect it on the 3rd which is a Sunday. Sent him the pics through MMS, he was happy with it and told me the DEAL IS ON! through SMS. Told him you cant pick it up on Sunday cause the shop where i left my wheels will be closed. So he said he will pick them up on the 5th which was fine with me cause he'll be coming back from Kuantan. He even contacted me over the phone and i thought this guy is a gentlemen based on the conversation we had. And then i received an SMS later that showed his true colors starting to appear slowly. It read "Do you know any good tyre shop in your place? I want to sell the 18" rim and then fix your 16". Why didn't i see this coming. Still i didn't bother much with that sms and i replied, you can come over and i will show you some tire shops. They need to have a look at your wheels before they can decide on anything. He started to ask how much do I THINK they will take? I was thinking to myself "HELLLOOO!!! Obviously i don't know and of course they (tireman) cant simply say a figure without seeing them, DUHH!"This is when i started doubting on this feller. I then receive an SMS saying "Ok bro, bukan apa, here in project site a lot of money have gone out the drain so kalau dia angkat harga cun2, senang hati sikit". I replied saying you're gonna have to nego with them on that. And today the 7th, i received a call from him at around 5pm saying he's on his way to KL from Kuantan and asking what time will my mech's shop close, to which i told him at 7pm. He continued saying he'll call me when he reaches Damansara at 6pm. I postponed my 7.30pm appointment just to be at my mech's place since he's finally coming over to view the wheels and i was looking forward to meet him too. I was there already waiting earlier just to beat the traffic. At sharp 5.45pm an SMS and this is how it read: "Sorry bro, reached Bentong then only realised left my wallet back in Batu Malim....next time la.".Now before i tell you fellow forumers here how i responded to him, please take a moment and picture the entire scenario....of beating the traffic to get there early so you dont want the buyer to wait and having to postpone your appointment and all because he gave you the word he was coming and only to hear "NEXT TIME LA". Just tell me how would you feel at this very instance?....EXACTLY how i felt!!!I called him 3 times rang but no answer and all went to voicemail. Sounds familiar?Though i was starting to boil i sent him a text cause there wasn't any way of reaching him over the phone. Despite all that happened i still kept my cool and wrote this "I am already waiting for you here since you told me you are coming. I postponed my 7.30pm appt because of what you told me. Appreciate if you can call me ASAP". That was all!No reply for 5 mins.I called the 4th time, it rang and best part he hug up on me. Classic isn't? Called again got hung up again. That's when all hell broke lose and i replied a text "If you are not serious then say so! Don't have to waste my time and ignore my calls. Did not expect you to be one of those time wasters!!! Talk cock #1." I didn't know who the F*** he was and didn't matter to me then. Lost all respect for him in a blink! Then came lar his message that confirms his conman-ness!!! "Whoa whoa hold your horses bro...if not serious i won't call you at all...I'm holding a class A construction company and have a factory on my own...i'm driving, rushing to get my wallet!!! With your attitude that you just shown and beautiful language, considered the deal is off and thanks a lot....all the best."(Food for thought)....Seriously now!...do i really need to know what the F*** is it that you're doing!!! Gets me thinking....To which i replied...."i should have seen this coming and my wheels do not deserve to be parted to ppl like you!!!. Sorry for you!"That was the it. So those forumers in the club who wants to sell your goodies, watch out for this guy with the nick "hisham eyegreen". Our time is more valuable than to serve these type of species floating around in our forums.Hope forummers here are alert about this one.

Cool bro..nothing to mad la..

I too sell thing and faced this kind of buyers..Suddenly short rm300 la..suddenly wallet don't know go to where la..ask to wait and said go to withdrawn money from ATM but lost forever la..blah blah blah..too many classic interesting story la.

All i'm trying to teach this A** is, don't f*** around with people's time. Don't want it say so! I'll be absolutely cool about it. We have things to do and have respect towards it. Sigh!!! Yea Lim, i know what you've gone through now.

There's always first time for everything.

No intention to. I happened to bump onto that thread few seconds after the seller posted (7:08) and i dropped him a PM at (7.14) asking for selling price and pics. He replied my PM at (7:28) to which i replied back saying my deal is on even before viewing the pics. And you replied to the thread at (7.53) asking him to PM you the price.

As long as one have not confirm anything, it's open for all to query. The difference is who is the quickest to decide and confirm. In this case, it was by luck i saw it. If you still want to call it "potong jalan", it's up to you. Cheers.

Unlike some people who talks and confirms shit for shit and end up being a shit for one...if you know who i'm referring to. Talk about being gentleman. Pardon my language.

Hellooo, that thread was not in the classsified , if it was, than yes, first come first serve!
But it was in a thread i was actively talking abt wanting to buy a pedal shift steering and riken came out to OFFER ME the steering. So in actual sense I was the first one to show interest and the seller was the one that offered to sell BUT b4 he/me can reply just bcos u happened to luckily stumbled on the thread as u said so urself doesnt make u any better a person .If u are a gentleman u would have posted in the thread itself and mention that if XXX doesn't want it I'm interested, not quietly PM and close the deal....I was willing to pay up to 2.8k for the steering so if he replied do u think I would not have confirmed it...but no, b4 he can reply you had to 'Potong Jalan'......its ok bro, It just took a steering wheel to find out what kind of person u are!...it was nice knowing you!

Thought it was a real conman, just a timewaster. Be prepared many like this here on the forums not only buyers but sellers who don't respect buyers time.

XXX i feel for you BRO ...yehh this CG will just potong when ever they want via the ultimate PM button ...sorry to hear that ordeal ..but it was an eye opener instead ...hope the CM could block excess CG over 500 post soon ... an idea only ...

over 2K post and when is bimmerholic gonna be an official member here :) anyway thanks for sharing your part of the wheel story ..these days everyone are just simply addicted of cheating ppl somehow or another ...

Bro, doesn't sound like a conman to me. A timewaster maybe. Or maybe just pure bad timing and luck. Maybe he is sincere, and what he says is actually true. Give him the benefit of the doubt.

One occasion of not turning up does not make one a conman. Maybe it was inappropriate to post all over the forum with the !!! posts.

A conman will try to swindle you out of your money or item. This does not happen here.

Anyway maybe things got too personal. Cool down bro. As you said theres first time in everything.

Bimmerholic (thread starter),

A review of your 1st post in this thread is being done and concluded that it was purely due to bad timing of either or both sides. Henceforth, title of this thread is edited and your other posting in the "newbie section" is moderated.

Thank you

Riken as the seller also one kind... He shud have honoured his offer to you in the first place even though someone cut in to offer to buy after that... bimmerholic may have 'potong jalan' but it is the seller who isn't wise in dealing in such situation, putting all 3 in an awkward situation...

Another type of seller are those who after agreeing to deal at a certain price, tells you later someone else offered higher price and asked whether you want to up your offer!!! WTF!!!??? Integrity doesn't worth anything anymore nowadays... It's a dog eat dog world out there..

In a way yes but Riken is somebody I dunno BUT bimmerholic is somebody i know...and to have somebody u know do this to you is what makes matters worse...

I know how u feel, same for me. My ad for my 18" wheels received good response but so many lowballers...sheesh

We are not making money, losing actually...

Got so many interested but from 3 series crowd, E36 and E46 owners but i told them won't fit becos of offset, One E46 owner with widebody conversion sounded interested and promised to come but yet to do so..

I also left my rims at a friend's tyre shop and many asked if can do trade in...that's not my call, i tell them to talk to the workshop owner. I still owe the shop some money for the rims to be repaired and painted as new, and i can't be taking another set of rims which i dun need...

One fella even asked if can pay by cheque, aiyoooo

I know, i know, the perils of selling items online, u meet all kinds of characters....

Wow, this thread has taken a few unexpected twist and turn huh?

The reality is... these are not just an ONLINE issue. This can happen anywhere. Before online classified, you get the same characters (both seller and buyer) even if you sell FacetoFace, news paper etc. So, the issues mention above is general (lowballing, booking with no commitment, seller selling to someone else after commitment/booking fee made, friends 'potong line'/ overtaking you, buyer didnt' turn up, seller didn't turn up etc...

The fact is, the days that all it took was a handshake to seal a honest deal is long gone. Deal with it. The more u stay in the 1920s, the more disappointed you can be. Selling 2nd hand goods is not easy... seller wants to recover some amount of his initial prinscipal/lost, buyer wants something below the market price. If you are lucky, the stars align and everything goes good... if it doesn't, it's a pain but that's the price you will have to pay.

Con man or swinddling is a whole different issue and by the looks of it, hasn't been evident so far in this thread (and has also been moderated)... so let's not go that far....

It's a frustrating affair but it is also a Friday.... life is short... not worth b*tching too much about it. Just take the car out, drive it like you stole it and put a smile back on your face! :)

Hmm.... If yr buyer takes yr item..and says very busy... No time ...not around... Phone also never picks up.... What does that mean? I know he genuinely is not a con or a swindler la..he dont look like one... But what I am saying is... Seller must be responsible... But buyer also must be responsible to uphold their part of the bargain... No matter how busy also.. Maybank2u.com.my is just a click away... Whether unr in Africa .. North pole with Santa clause ... South pole with chilly willy d penguin... Internet is just a click away... I am really baffled.... In fact I feel like i m a beggar... Sigh
