neohkw;507047 said:Hi Haywire,
Jap spec radio band stop at 90Mhz. There will be some radio stations you can tune to within this narow bandwidth. In Penang, I can tune to Red FM, one of the more popular stations I think.
TV can also to tune to local stations; i.e. TV1, TV2, TV3, NTV7 and 8tv. But my factory spec don't allow me to watch the TV on the go. You can still here audio, but the blank will turn blue to prevent distracting the driver. I hear there is a solution to disable this but I am having no luck thus far.
GPS is a headache. It won't work at all... I even gotten a copy of the MY map on DVD from a nice forummer here but also cannot work. Gave up and bought myself 5" widescreen garmin Nuvi 1460 for Rm1200. Very good GPS cos by now I have owned 3 gps by Garmin. Contented for now, although if I am also to get a mutimedia interface to fit in to our screen with another Garmin, that would be very nice indeed. One thing to note is that our Sat Nav LCd screen is now considered lower end. You will have trouble seeing the screen if you are wearing sunshades.
Hope I answered your questions!

bimmerholic;507077 said:Just wondering bro, since yours is a DVD capable unit, shouldn't it be able to read the Navi Installer in CD format (8 sets i think)? Can give it a try.
525i;507179 said:You may have to change the Nav unit to a UK model one. I remember reading about this somewhere when I was doing mine. You can get the Mk 3 which is using a CD-ROM or a MK 4 which is the newer DVD. Both should be plug and play to replace your jap one.
Also your Sat Nav antenna should be in place and you are testing this in an open area. Not in a indoor car park. I once nearly gave up on my GPS because I couldn't get it to work until i realized that I was indoors.
You can get either one from ebay. If you are in KL, why don't you call me up. We can swap our units and see if it works. Then only you make a decission to buy or not.
Good luck.
