91 E30 318i with M40 motor

I would really appreciate someone helping me sove cam/rocker/hydraulic lifters wear for once and for all. Tired of replacing cam,lash pads,rockers,Hydraulic lifters about every 6 months.Can I fit a M42 E36 318i motor, and what would I need/need to do or buy to do the conversion. What could I retain with the swop.Please help !!!!
