4 Plaza Tol Tidak Naik

KUALA LUMPUR 28 Nov. - Kabinet hari ini bersetuju untuk tidak menaikkan kadar tol bagi empat buah lebuh raya termasuk Lebuhraya Utara Selatan (PLUS) dan Jambatan Pulau Pinang.Menteri Kerja Raya, Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu berkata, pengumuman tersebut dibuat setelah Kabinet bermesyuarat hari ini dan ia hanyalah untuk tempoh setahun iaitu pada tahun 2008 sahaja.``Lebuh raya lain yang terlibat adalah Lebuh Raya Bertingkat Ampang-Ulu Klang (PROLINTAS), Sistem Penyuraian Trafik KL Barat (SPRINT) Kerinchi dan Damansara Link,’’ katanya pada sidang akhbar di pejabatnya di sini, hari ini.Ekoran langkah tidak menaikkan tol itu, kata Samy Vellu, kerajaan terpaksa membayar pampasan kepada PLUS sebanyak RM145 juta, Jambatan Pulau Pinang sebanyak RM39 juta, SPRINT RM32 juta dan PROLINTAS sebanyak RM26 juta.Kerajaan juga katanya, perlu membayar pampasan sebanyak RM75 juta bagi tahun 2008 kepada Syarikat Konsesi Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong kerana mengurangkan kadar tol daripada RM2.10 kepada RM1.60.Selain itu, jelas beliau, kerajaan juga perlu membayar sebanyak RM27 juta kepada Lebuhraya Pintas Selat Klang Utara Baru (NNKSB) bagi tempoh 2005 hingga 2007.``Keseluruhan pampasan yang perlu dibayar kerajaan kepada syarikat-syarikat konsesi lebuh raya adalah sebanyak RM344 juta,’’ katanya.Jelas beliau, jumlah pampasan tersebut merupakan anggaran sahaja dan tertakluk kepada jumlah trafik sebenar.Samy Vellu berkata, keputusan untuk tidak menaikkan kadar tol tersebut ialah kerana kerajaan tidak mahu membebankan pengguna yang banyak menggunakan lebuh raya tersebut.Bagaimanapun beliau menafikan pengekalan kadar tol tersebut adalah sebagai helah pilihan raya umum.Sementara itu, Samy Vellu berkata, kadar tol di enam lebuh raya lain akan dinaikkan mengikut perjanjian konsesi.Lebuh raya itu adalah Lebuh Raya Seremban-Port Dickson, Lebuh Raya Utara Selatan Hubungan Tengah; Lebuh Raya Kulim Butterworth, Lebuh Raya Laluan Kedua Malaysia-Singapura, Lebuh Raya Pintas Selat Klang Utara Baru serta Tambak Johor dan Plaza Bukit Kayu Hitam.``Kadar minimum bagi kenaikan tersebut adalah tujuh peratus dan maksimum sehingga 50 peratus,’’ ujar beliau.Katanya, kenaikan itu dibuat kerana tidak ramai pengguna jalan raya yang menggunakan lebuh raya tersebut.Jelas beliau, sebagai contoh, hanya terdapat 16,000 pengguna yang menggunakan Lebuh Raya Laluan Kedua Malaysia-Singapura setiap hari.- Utusan

Jelas beliau, jumlah pampasan tersebut merupakan anggaran sahaja dan tertakluk kepada jumlah trafik sebenar.

So how does this works out?

For LDP, traffic volume has more than doubled their initial projection.
So gomen has to pay them more, eg:- 0.50RM X Number of Cars going through LDP??

Or should the gomen pay them less since they are already making more $$$ than their initial projection??

Toll concessionaire holders always Win, and Gomen/Rakyat always Lose!

i was always wondering when they r gonna abolish the Federal Highway tolls. It has alredi been at least 15 yrs since they tolled the highway. its time they retun it to the Govt just like Jln Kuching n Cheras.

Let millions rakyat pay more on tolls while the nation spend millions on space travel for 1 or 2 Malaysians.

Toll rate has a ripple effect on price of goods and services too. Inflation

I would rather have no space travel and divert that money to eliminate or reduce the toll rate.

whats the use of diverting the money when toll price and fuel price will increase sooner or later? the important thing is to kill the rot at the root. At the documentation n contract stage which is now classified as OSA if u didnt know.

They can cut the wastages like the space rides, UK Malaysian Sports Centre, the estimated 600 million to 1 billion new National Palace and channel the money to what ever compensation they need to pay to the toll operators instead of making the public pay more.

Do Malaysians really need space travel, foreign sports center and new national palace for the rulers? Which is more important? Pride generated from these milestones and landmark or everyday survival?

When the toll rates goes up, traders have to pass the cost and who gets to pay... Rakyat...
