what do you mean this web prevented you from buying a crap?

some...well actually not some but most 2nd hand car dealers are very dodgy..i recently bought my 2nd hand 5 series from a dealer in PJ...before the sales transacted he promised to make the car tip top...when i took the car after the sales completed....

1. Engine bay not even cleaned
2. driver side tyre almost flat..i only realised after leaving their place when at the petrol station

the above 2 are still kinda okay, after i reached home..poped the hood again...poked around the engine bay...only then i realised that my radiator fan lying at the bottom of the engine bay....Is it possible that the radiator fan dropped off by itself? Could someone have accidently removed it? I dont know thats the answer but it left a bad taste in my mouth....

test drive a car is the 1st policy buying a car,,,lesson make a person wiser ,,,dont worry tons of sifus here to help out regards tqvm dan

Hey, radiator fan drop off and lying at the bottom of the engine bay? That's dead serious, man. You should have some kind of one month or at least 2 weeks warranty from the dealer. Bring the car back to him and ask him to rectify. However having said that, I understand most used car dealer only give you warranty on 3 items i.e. engine, gear box and no water leaking.

Bro Grand...well after i saw the radiator fan lying there i quickly screwed it back on...luckly i spotted it early and not only after the engine overheated....I asked my mech abt this, and he mentioned that the threads on the radiator fan nut is counter to the rotation of th fan..hence if the fans turns, it should tighten the nut instead of loosening it.......so i wonder who loosened it???

Hi everybody,

Need some advice on a E39 manual 540i I saw in bangsar.

1.What would be the estimate price to purchase this car?

2. Mileage is 23K

3. Is this car a worth buy?

4. Anyway I am looking for a E39 520i. Anyone has 1 pls let me know.

What year is the 540i? Are you sure the milage is 23k? its awfully low, there could be come tampering to the odometer...

from a personal point of view...the road tax will definately be a show stopper...

E39

From what one dealer said it was year 1999.

The roadtax shows 2,184.

I am getting the copy of grant today.
Would anyone want to check it out as a helping hand for me?

Friend, I'd stay away from a low mileage car that is what 9 yrs old? Heck I stay away from 23k miler for half that age. Whether its tampered or through out its life sitting in a workshop.

btw, whats 2,184? I don't think a 4 ltr road tax is that little for even half a year road tax.

WALK AWAY!

thanks chaiks. I will be very carefull now dealing with the car dealer.

once I get the copy of grant, i will let you guys see whats on it.
give me a day or 2.
I really am verythankful to you guys for your advice, but lets see how is goes.
Some benefit of doubt la!!
