2010/2011 recond S1000RR

Hi,

I am looking to buy a bike, currently considering new S1000RR or recond one.


New bike comes with 3 (or is it 2?) yrs warranty hence peace of mind, fl model post 2012, but at hefty RM118,000 price tag.

Recond is very cheap! Can get at around 80,000k with Opal Warranty, covering major items. I dont really mind not having the fl features as i m no track rider, never gonna push the bike to its max.

Question is, i read that BMW issued recall for pre fl units. I am assuming that if i buy recond, chances are the defects were not rectified yet. Is it worth to pay less for a recond bike, or hefty repair cost will hit me over the long run?

I have never own sbk before, no idea what i am putting myself into.

P/s: a bit quiet over here, is there anywhere else ppl talk about bmw sbk, other than fb?

80k is good price indeed. But check out the bmw dealer sometimes there are current promo for new bikes too. Last year stock brand new s1000rr 2013 going for 105k.

If you can manage a z800 I don't think you will have a big problem handling the 1000RR. The riding position is more likely something you need to get used too. Personally I never liked crouching over a bike ... Too much of a wannabe ... IMHO.

Maybe consider the naked version, 1000R ? I think the new price from AB is 90+k
