i know japan cars are those black black type, wat abt UK?

mine UK is not heavily tint. It is just slightly darker comparing to the front ones

My UK spec came with dark rear windows.. pretty cool actually.I think they call it privacy option glass.

Still have it on mine.

BTW DY,any idea if Obermaier is offerring the Procede V4?

Mine is the V4 from them in Feb 2010

Ah..excellent!! I'm assuming the support from Freddie is good? Got some issues with the N54,wastegate rattle and frequent limp mode occurence.Hoping he could help me solve this before installing the V4.

the frequent limp mode could be due to boost leak (fault code 30FF) ??

I do hope so,car feels ever so slightly less torquey than I'm used to.I thought I was getting used to the shove hence the feel... at least its better than having HPFP issues,I hope.

Also planning to change some suspension components to M3 ones.I think my front control arm bushings are shot.

It's an option called "Sun Protection Glass" and it's only for the rear windows. Not all UK cars will have the option specified. It's not super dark, and lets through about 33% light.

Front control arm bushings are normally the first ones to go. I replaced mine under warranty. BIG difference. I'm sure it won't cost you that much coz the dealer agreed to change it without asking too many questions.

hmmm, heres the thing, puspakom guys not letting it approved

normally if like japan version, i can understand, but this?

Yup. It must be changed to clear glass.

Hi. Of course 335 is really tempting. But I ll go for 325 bcos of the warranty. Depending what's expectation. If u r prepared to fork out money to repair the 335 for any wear and tear then go for 335. But bear in mind that the parts are really expensive.

Issue is warranty vs no warranty OR 335 vs 325

335 brand new 500k ; say 3 year depreciate 30% = 350k
less maintenance cost including parts say 3k per service , say 5 x = 15k lets throw 20k, so thats RM 330

So it's getting close to 325 brand new with BSRI, except, you get 335 with that value.
It's the 335 that you want, not warranty or free service.
When we buy BMWs we follow our heart, and not because we play safe. And you don't play safe when driving BMWs

Just pretend you bought brand new 3 years ago and your wife was driving it and now its your turn after the warranty expires ( you have to assume you wife, ie previous owner is a spirited driver but ignore the fact )

if you want peace of mind and new smell all the time, I suggest you do this:
you just buy brand new 335 then sell after warranty, and get 325 and sell after warranty and get new honda accord (2 year free service) then sell and get new toyota Altis with free service then sell and get new Kia with free service and then end up with Perodua or something. That's 10 years of full warranty and service by 2020 that begin with brand new 335 back in 2010 - ultimate peace of mind without spending any more moneh.

good luck bro!

Apart from my very first car which was used, every single car I've bought since has been new. It's the pleasure of breaking in a virginal car and the bliss of the first 3 years without major repairs. Everyone has their own preferences.

That's a lot of virgin, bad boy! he he he! and you left them all for a another virgin everytime... lucky u

it's nice. but personally when it comes to performance cars, whacking or pushing or tweaking them while new and within warranty is different when you had someone ex's. A friend had two type Rs. a brand new FDr and '96 DC2 both taken to track. with the DC2, he enjoys it more and able to really push a car. with the new car, he took certain amount of restraint.

So that is really about if you want to push cars. but of course nobody said we can't whack virgins real good. plenty of guy do that anyway. like u said - preferences...

Agree with you bud...different kinds of pleasure. :) But frankly, the virginal feel of a new car only lasts about 6 months, during which you buy all sorts of presents for your virgin - carnuba spa treatments, chamois leather massages. After that 6 months it's whackable too. :D

But for me that 6 months is a priceless pleasure every few years. ;)

Mun: I agree with you. It is really depend what's your expectation in getting a car.

I decided to go for e90 is becoz of warranty n also is time to change to conti for me and that's why I cancel my booking of type r. But now I still feel like getting a high rev car. Ops... Hehe. Maybe time to work harder to get another high rev car with WARRANTY. Hehe

Yes Schwepps, I could identify that experience with you. Its a wonderful feeling and sense of satisfaction knowing that your UDM is brand new and BSRI starts from the day you own it.... A e90 lover used to say this....owning the UDM is truly SHeer Driving Pleasure....but owning it brand new, ....thats simply PRICELESS! No one and nothing can beat/replace that satisfaction JOY.....(even if its just for 6months, its worth it....)

:)

Hi funj...but those BMW driver's Training cars are really thrashed during the training...so unless they really offer a significant disc...else I wud not even consider...Having said all that. they wud have replaced all the necessary wear & tear parts before they sell right? Eg.Tyres, brake pads, Brake discs, etc....

Unless, u wanna get it as a track car or second car, then its something to consider :)

Well, unfortunately, BMW does not declare that the Premium selection cars were once used for Driver training. I believe one of our forummers found out after he bought his 325i that it was very most likely the batch from BMW Driver training.

Imagine, your first time washing your new car, with love, care, and appreciation. And when the soap bubbles begin to flow down, you see it flowing around what seems to be the letters "BMW Driver Training" appearing on the doors. What an absolute nightmare :)
