On a serious note, if anybody intend to puschase any of the 1 series pls look for the above said person and mention you are from BMW Club Malaysia.

By 1 series coupe you mean the 3-door hatch, right? Profile doesn't look like the new coupe which I am all excited about with the upcoming US launch in Spring 2008 - reborn 2002tii

FYI 2 models are coming here, the 128i (N52B30) and the 135i (N5B30). The 135i will come with 6 pot brakes

yeah i agree with u KL2DC..seems like the pic taken above was a hatchback...
can't ppl tell the difference bt the silhoutte of a coupe and a hatchback ??

i also heard that they will feature the new Diesel 2.0 engine 207hp and 400nm..

Yup, its not a 1 series coupe. Its a 3 door hatch with a lot of M-sport goodies.

The 1 series coupe will probably be launched next year only.

In fact, I saw a 1 series TV commercial last night... It was a dude and chick driving a white and black 1 series Hatchback... looks pretty good from the commercial.

But excuse my ignorance, whats so special about this launch?
Hasn't the 1 series hatchback been out? Is this newly designed version just a facelift?

I would much rather see a 1 series coupe version... if priced well, it would dominate the coupe market in Malaysia.

RedZ4, they're making a big splash with the 3 door variant which is a more sporty direction than the 5 door (think competent GTi competitor).

The big news is the coupe. I can't wait, I'm quite surprised the US is getting a crack at it and so far the news have been very exciting especially the bi-turbo 135i version. I'm expecting a sub-30k price tag for the 3.0litre 128i and about 35k for the full boat 300hp 135i version. Amazing, in such a small package - this is gonna run rings around the 335i! I've expressed my big interest with my local dealership, he's gonna get back to me as soon as they're taking orders.

Cute proportions, very 2002-esque

The rear styling is going to get some getting used to...imho

Yup. It looks like the hatch, not the coupe which is only being launched in Europe in the next 2-3 months, I think!

the 1 series coupe and cabriolet looks soooo cool.

anyhow, how come the 1 series thread is so quite and deserted ?

the 1 series convertible is hot in red! I wonder in terms of performance will there be major difference than the current ?

...of course performance wise the convertible will be less powerful..more drag ..caused by hair..

Ha ha ha ha, u funny lah, i tot something technical pulak!

actually the cabrios are generally heavier than its coupe siblings because of more chassis strenghtening to compensate for the lack of roof structure. Being heavier will directly hamper the performance of the car compared to its lighter sibling. But then u buy a cabrio to be SEEN slowly.. Drive too fast and no one will see u... :p
