My previous Bridgestones and Contis were RFTs, until the present Michelins which are non RFTs. I regret why I didn't change them to non RFTs earlier as the ride comfort differed significantly. Previously while on RFTs my kids hated to ride in my X5 as it was so hard and bumpy even with adaptive drive so had no choice but to use my other rides when bringing them out. Now the ride comfort is so much better. Since mine is a 7 seater, there's no spare tyre as such I bought the tyre repair kit to compensate for the non RFT disadvantage.

What size of tyres did you buy it ? How much did you buy it ? Where did you buy it ? My rear tyres are wearing off.
I heard that Toyo Proxes ST11 is one of the best SUV tyres around. Anyone tried that ? Better to buy tyres in Singapore ?

Mine are staggered, and 275/40/20 and 315/35/20. The mics are Michelin latitude tour hp. Trust me, it's extremely comfortable. Got them in mps auto. That was 2 years ago. $1700 for the fronts and $2300 for the rears. Don't know whether the price has gone up. The contis were $2200 front and $2800 rear. As for getting them from s'pore, and it is slightly cheaper but bear the risk of getting taxed by custom when crossing the border.

The price you mentioned are for a single piece of tyre and not a pair right ?

Yes that's right bro, price per piece. I bought the tyres there as they're authorized dealer for Michelin plus I had them do the alignment there and then, convenient.

Hi Pratt, if you are using the mics, do you have a repair kit standby? what brand and where you get it from? and how much?

Yes I have the mobile repair kit. I got it originally from Quill Automobiles in PJ section 14 for $600. This was 3 years ago.

Thanks a lot Pratt....will definately try out the Mics and get the repair kit as soon as my rft worns out, :)

hi pratt, have you try the repair kit that you bought before? for a tyre this size, do you need more than 1 can? seems like quicksave no longer selling this...will probably need to get from oversea

This is the pricing that I got from Coco Motors PTE Limited in Singapore

" Pricing:
Bridgestone Dueller RFT - $2580/set of 4 tyres
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx DSST RFT - $3200/set of 4 tyres
Continental Extreme Contact DWS - $2260/set of 4 tyres
Michelin Latitude Diamaris - $3310/set of 4 tyres.

All pricing includes GST and installation. If you're interested in the tyres, have to confirm the order and place a deposit of 50%, waiting time should be about 2 wks.

Wheel balancing is already provided in the installation fee, however, for Alignment is $85.60.

Hi, I've not had the opportunity to use it yet (thankfully). But from what I've been told, you don't need to discharge the whole can as you just need a little to 'mend' the hole/puncture. I'll try to enquire for you whenever I happen to be in any Tyre shop.

Hey thanks for the price updates bro. I've personally used the Bridgestones and the Contis, trust me you won't wanna go that way. No doubt the brand name is definitely trustworthy but the ride they give on the X5 is so hard that my kids on the rear seats have headaches everytime. Mind you this is with adaptive drive. I'm using the Diamaris on my Lexus though its not as hard and 'bumpy' as the other 2 brands, it doesnt handle as well compared to the Contis. Also maybe for a fact that the Lexus's original ride is super soft and extremely comfortable so it doesnt really count for a comparison on the Diamaris. As mentioned earlier, I'm now on the Mic Latitudes on the X5, it's really an all rounder in terms of ride, handling and comfort. Will stick to this on my next tyre change as well.

Hi pratt, changed all my tyres to mics last week and the ride now is much more comfortable, thanks a lot. May I know what is the tyre pressure that you set?

Hi bro good to hear that the mics works well. I'm on 32 front and 35 rear. That seems to be quite comfortable as recommended by the manufacturer.

Hi all, anyone use toyo proxies or Bridgestone DHPS non rft here, any review so far?
Or what would be the recommendation ?thanks

Just a quick feedback on the Michelin Latitudes, after 18000 km, thread still looking good, I would say at least 85% left. This is with moderate to occasional hard cornering. Definitely recommend this to fellow X5 owners.

My experience so far is that Mic is comfortable and long lasting. However, the tyre compound is hard and the grip on the road is not good, especially high speed and high torque, the DSC lights keep poping out, not suitable for wet roads.
My previous Bridgestone tyre (RFT) compound wear off very fast but better grip on the road.

Now that you brought it up, yes when I floor the accelerator, the light do come on. I thought my dsc was faulty. At least now I know its the tyres and not the system. So far on wet roads I've not driven it hard as I do not take risks, but on average speed of 110km/h on the highway with wet surfaces its been quite good, grip and braking wise.
