Hi Folks,Does anyone have the alignment settings ? Whereever I go it seems that they cannot resolve the issue in which the car drags to the left. I even tried Manji (MPS) and he could not help as well. I found this on the web and there is some settings that we need to perform. Anyone else have any alignment shops to recommend and have resolved the issue of the car dragging to the left. Tyre lifespan is also critical if alignment is not done properly.

what is your original wheel/tyre size ?

if you have changed it to a larger one, it will track it to the left. suppose when u bought it originally, it not give u this problem ? is that so ?

It's the original tires 275/40/20 315/35/20. Never changed the tires before.

the only answer i have is to take the car to Ingress Auto to get the alignment done.. they have the right machine settings... or it could be a bend/loose joint or balljoint...

very hard to say with these new cars and the active steering/electric ones, etc...

i finally did mine in Goh Swee Hin (The Pirelli shop in Glenmarie) and so far so good. It doesn't pull much to the left.
Also, the person recommended that we do alignment and balancing every 5K for X5 and X6 as the car is heavy.

Mine is the same size as yours staggered 20" as well. Had the same problem pulling to the left. After sending to MPS problem was fixed. It's straight and level now. Mine are brand new Michelin latitude tyres if that makes a difference.

mine is also the same sizes (275/40/20 315/35/20) but recently found that the front tires flower has reduce a lot at the shoulder area.......did any one of you facing this problem? I am using rft bridgestone.

three possibilities here I reckon,
1) you do a lot of high speed cornering
2) out of alignment
3) your front tyres are under inflated.

Hahaha ain't we all guilty of the 1st one knowing well our ride handles extremely well in high speed cornering.

recently went to replace tyre at Goh swee hin due to puncture and was alarm to know it cost RM3200 for just one tyre. Now is more cautious to care for the tyres, :)

Which brand was the quoted price for? Continental, Bridgestone or Michelin coz the prices varies from one brand to another.

That's expensive. bought mine the last time for rm 2700. But the Bridgestone only lasted me 20000km, then I changed to conti which had more mileage, after 30000km the thread was still 70%. But didn't like the stiffness so using Michelin now. Personally I find Michelin was the best among the 3 brands in terms of comfort and wet conditions. Thread is still 95%after 10000km so far with lots of hard cornering and zero to hundred drags :)

hi pratt, is yours RFT? same sizes? maybe i should change to michelin....but not sure if they have rft. i find my ride is alo pretty bumpy....

by the way, mine is 2011 x5 5.0i, and the rim and tyres are originally new from BMW UK.

My previous Bridgestones and Contis were RFTs, until the present Michelins which are non RFTs. I regret why I didn't change them to non RFTs earlier as the ride comfort differed significantly. Previously while on RFTs my kids hated to ride in my X5 as it was so hard and bumpy even with adaptive drive so had no choice but to use my other rides when bringing them out. Now the ride comfort is so much better. Since mine is a 7 seater, there's no spare tyre as such I bought the tyre repair kit to compensate for the non RFT disadvantage.

sound like a good idea, mine is 7 seaters too and my kids and wife hate it too as it is too bumpy. thanks, will consider this in future.
