Wtb 1998 E36 328

Hi I guess my search begins. I expect it to be long and hard but I hv finally decided that I want to get a 1998 E36 328. I believe that this is the last manufacture year for the E36. As some of u may know, I have owned a 1988 E30 318i(A) 2 door for the last 4 years. I have made many friends in this forum who hv helped my through BMW experience. My E30 will be 20 yrs old next year and though it still serves me well, I plan to migrate to a E36 by then. I hv decided a 328 over a 318 as I want to expereince the straight six everyone raves about. I hv decided a 328 over a 325 as I want a newer car and the newest 325 is a 1995 make wherelse I would prefer a 1998/99 car. I understand that the 1998 car comes with an M3 bodykit and passenger airbag. I hv decided a E36 over a E46 as the prices for E36 hv dropped so much (eg a friend's freind just sold his 1997 328 for RM40k....missed oppurtunity!) that I can afford to get a E36 for cash. Of course the road tax of RM1600 is a put off. Imagine if I own the car for 5 yrs thats RM800x5=RM4000 more than a 325 road tax for 5yrs). I guess that's why the price has crashed. you can definitely bargain for a low price, i heard 328s are so hard to sell these days. it's a 6 second vehicle though very fast.

I am in the search for E36 325i as I prefer the lower roadtax and as for power many said it's just minor diff.

So far, have not come across any 328i for RM40K but saw one belong to a pretty gal but sad she sold it to a buyer the day the advert out on STAR Newspaper. She sold it for RM42K ..

If you do come across a good deal for 325i E36 please let me know ya...

the amount of torque generated bt the m52b28 is where the difference lies..not in the power....
